You can see not having Altuve and Correa is starting to show in the offense. Granted Altuve has only missed a game and half but just not enough offense out there.

I'd love to see the Giants sell and trade us Hunter Pence (for the fans, we eat the contract, pray he can get things going again when he comes back home) and Tony Watson. After today's loss they're under 500 and 6.5 games behind LAD for the division lead. With all three NL Divisions having at least two true contenders, I really can't see how they catch up without a bunch of miracles. And some of their key guys (Longo and Cutch at least) leave in FA after this year. I know they've been looking to ship Pence away, maybe a Tony Watson deal gets us to bite. Watson is a great lefty reliever, and he'd feel right at home in our clubhouse (formerly teammates with Cole and Morton, looks up to both of them). Ideas?

Love Watson. If SF kicks in the rest of Pence's salary and the Stros DFA him the day the trade is finalized he can come too.

McCutchen is a free agent after this year, but Longoria is signed through the 2023 season.

If we get an OF I tend to think we need to get one who is good. Pence is not good anymore

Adam Jones might be a good fit.

I wonder if we would take a look a Josh Donaldson.

He makes a lot of money, and he's had an injury riddled season, but he's a guy that's been an MVP level performer over the last 5 years. Seems like a pickup that could yield Verlander like dividends in October.

McCutchen + Watson could be interesting.

Luhnow has the option of waiting thru the next few weeks to see if Tucker hits, as there are a couple of good bats (namely Choo and Donaldson) who should pass thru waivers. It is odd that Tucker is not playing everyday.

Is he a rental or does he have that stupid salary again next year?

I suspect that if Correa were healthy, he'd play every day. The challenge is that without CC (and now Altuve) the lineup just can't afford another black hole - even one with high potential. #1 seed is still in reach and WC is still a possibility, even if remote. Have to keep winning...

I think a middle infielder would be a bigger need than another OF. The options with Altuve and Correa out are worrisome. Whit Merrifield is who I’d target and he’s played some CF this year would be a nice player who gets on base in LF as insurance if Tucker’s learning curve extends beyond September.

C (4) Stassi, McCann, Maldonado, Gattis
IF (5) Yuli, Altuve, Correa, Bregman, Marwin
OF (4) Reddick, Springer, Tucker, Kemp

SP (4) JV, Keychel, Cole, Morton

RP (8) Rondon, Devo, Pressly, McHugh, Peacock, Smith, McCullers, Sipp

If there’s another move it’s gonna make Ted or Kemp bummed out

I would agree but they are sending Marwin out there, rather see Tucker get chances than Marwin continue to play everyday.

Kemp could play some 2b and Tucker in LF

    Hopefully Altuve is back today

Archer is my inexplicable white whale. I know he would not be worth the cost and I’m not even sure he would be one of our 5 best starting pitchers, and yet I still want him. Can’t explain it.
