    I'm genuinely happy for the kid. By the time he hits free agency (assuming all 5 years are guaranteed) he'll be only 29-30 which means he could probably get one last sizable contract. From FIRST round kid to making $18 million a year.

    Right, but there is zero reason to put an artificial deadline of July 27th on a deal when you have more time to hash it out and/or someone bilnks.

    Morey deserves a ton of credit here.

    He drafted Capela with the 25th pick years ago and then signed him to a team friendly contract. Excellent.

    Bonuses? Declining/inclining/flat? Options?

    Seems like a fair deal, would of liked to keep him for less but glad we got him locked up for 5 years, if the cap keeps increasing it could become a bargain deal if Capela keeps him game up (or perhaps improves). It would be a relief for our future if it can be declining.
