1.Should the Rockets lose the rest of their games and hope for a better shot at a high pick? 2.What should they do about preparing for the free agents on the team (Olajuwon, Taylor, Norris, Anderson, etc.)? 3.What should they do about free agents out there (Webber, Williamson and others)? 4.What should they do about the players which just don't seem to work on this team (Cato. Williams, etc.)? 5.What kind of trade offers will the Rockets receive and what kind of trade offers will the Rockets give? 6.How many of their draft picks should they give up? 7.Should the Rockets make any kind of coaching changes ( head, assistant or otherwise)? 8.Should the Rockets forget about free agency and trade up for a higher draft pick(s) and get their needs there? 9.What teams, if any, would be interested in Cato? 10.Who is the one person we couldn't give up in a trade although they may seem eligible? Should be another great and interesting offseason for the Rockets and their fans. ------------------ Arkansas' Biggest Rocket Fan!
Boy, you sure ask a lot of questions Let's tackle a couple of them: Absolutely not. Denver is not going 4-0 over their last four (road games against the Spurs and Lakers). The difference between the ninth and tenth spots is one lousy (virtual) ball out of the thousand. They are going to do it. Get Olajuwon and Bullard off the payrolls for now, trade any unnecessary guaranteed salaries, and wait. Nope. Rudy's earned his pay for the year. Despite any errors on a game-by-game basis, overall they are ahead of where they should (realistically) be. I think Steve and Cuttino are the two anchors of this club that Rudy wouldn't give up in a trade, although the Kobe rumors might make for a few sleepless nights! ------------------
1. No, must win them all to pad the win count. 2. Immediately resign Hakeem and Moochie. Try to get Anderson to stay his last year before his Bird Rights kick in. Save Mo until after the Webber chase. 3. Go as hard after Webber as they can. If they fail to get him, then go after the most talented remaining free agent. They should try to find a defensive banger. A veteran would be nice. And of course, Mo. 4. Keep Walt, as he can be a valuable reserve. Try to trade Cato. 5. They'll probably get a Kobe-for-Francis call. They should ignore that. I think it will mostly be them calling others. They will likely try to trade away Walt and Cato. (shocking!) 6. Hopefully they will use them all to get quality players. Even better would be if they were to trade them all for a higher pick. That would be nice. 7. Hire a defensive assistant coach. The Rockets made ZERO progress on the defensive end this season, and they could use a defensive specialist. 8. They should trade up for higher draft picks and go after free agents. 9. Some team in the east would probably like the look of Cato. A contender with a void in the middle. The Bucks, Knicks, and Magic all come to mind. 10. No matter how good the offer, Francis and Mobley must remain Rockets. Screw Kobe. Also, if Hakeem is re-signed, they had better not think about trading him. Should be a long and torturous off-season for the Rockets and their playoff-deprived fans. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. I think that all of the bench players should get the lions share of the PT for the rest of the year. Give guys like Langhi, Colson, Kenny, et al a chance to show what they can do against the starters of the league no that we have been eliminated. This will also allow them to develop and would reduce the risk of injury to our starters. Heck, we don't even need to put the starters in the games anymore. ------------------ "Of course, thats just my opinion, I could be wrong" -- Dennis Miller
Cato deserves the highest punishment the NBA can hand out . . .. SEND HIM TO CLEVELAND!! where mediocrity is a past time Rocket River it us to be send them to the clippers ------------------
The Rockets will only win 1 more game this year. And that one game will be Vancouver's last home game LOL. I hope Steve scores 50 ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
