Ah didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing.

In that case the hope is that he goes to a team that will give him a max the following year.

I don't think it's in the Rockets best interest for Capela to sign the QO. An acceptable case is to get him on a deal that we might not love but that still keeps him tradeable if he continues to look good. The problem is I think that's probably 4 years, $76M, I wouldn't cross $20M/yr, although maybe it could be a back-loaded contract.

And that has to be a team with enough cap space to give him a max cause a player traded after signing the qo loses his bird rights so, at that point the player can't get resigned if the team goes over the cap by doing that.

Man losing bird rights sucks. Also the team would most likely then have to move Anderson’s expiring the following year.

The more I think about it, the more I'd want to give him a rich 2 year deal and trade him next off-season.

Nope dude, you can only sign one over the cap if you have his Bird Rights. Otherwise we can only offee Vet Min or Exceptions.

If you look at Luc for example, we can only offer him vet min or use the MLE. However since we are reserving MLE for Melo and Melton+other rooks we can only let him walk. He only signed a deal worth 4M if they think Cp3 was worth 40 surely Luc was worth 10% that amount lol.

Brandan Wright is a winner on paper but in reality his health is too suspect. He played like 14 mins and then got injured for the rest of the year wtf

Man this situation just feels like the same ol' story everytime with BJ Armstrong. When will BJ learn that he will never win against Morey. NEVER! Capella and BJ both need to learn from history and take what Houston is offering. Golden state gets all stars taking chump change contract to play together... we get stuck with everyone demanding the max and more.

You guys have no state tax either. So they're getting a good chunk of the actual contract.

He is with the same group that BJ represents. I think they were somewhat naive, to think that Capela would get a max deal. Even the Lakers, didn't think much about him, after acquiring Lebron.

Im slowely but surely getting angry at CC. What is he thinking? Take the offer or the QO but we need a solution here to move on. He is a good player but replaceable. There will be other bigs that can dunk and set picks. Nothing too special about him. Yes we are in win-now mode but its still not worth it to get stuck with a 5 year near-max overpaid player- especially since the Warriors will be unbeatable this season and if we dont win it next year then CP3 is probably getting too old also.

His agent isn't BJ Armstrong even if they share the same group doesn't mean his agents are clones of BJ and would think the same way he does.

As an agent you want to shoot for the moon in the same way as a bball team you want slave contracts for your players. Capela isnt DMo his average during the regular season could make an argument for 25M so its not out of the world demand. We will only know if they are delusional if they take the QO in the end, all of this could just be posturing on both sides.

Capela raised his game in the playoffs I admit, but he sank against GS. I don't think Mr. TF will offer him 20-25 M. The 5 yr 85 M plus incentives to reach 90 M is a very good one. It's natural for agents to look for more money for their clients, so they can get a bigger cut, but Capela is running out of opportunities. The Rockets have the edge here.
