If Webber does not sign with Houston, would you rather air mail a good chunk of our cap space to Mo Taylor or would you rather wait until next year to sign a more complete player (filling the 4 through the draft)?

My own personal take is that Mo will be gone, but imagining that he wants to stay for big money, I hope we don't sign him. I think he's a nice player and all, I just don't think he's

    A) A complete Power Forward
    B) Worth the money that he will be asking.

I'd much rather go after a player that has more complete skills at either the 3,4 or 5. The kind of money we have should be used to get a player of that quality. It shouldn't be spent on an average PF. Even if we need to spend it next year.

The thing is I figure Moe and Shan would
ask for AT LEAST Cato-Money. Probably
would want that plus. [hell mobely should
have gotten AT LEAST Cato money]

Cato is the standard on this team
Cause he earns so much and does so
    little.

I would Resign Mo for 7~8 mil that is about it.
Shandon resign for about 5~6 Mil no more.
Dream resigns for 2 year at 7~8 mil

I wouldn't give Mo big time $. He is an average PF in the West. He could be a good PF in the East but in the West there are too many good PFs to compete against.
I still like Shandon although he is not producing offensively and would like to re-sign him, but I think he is frustrated with his limited role in the offense and/or not winning.

Oeilpere has said the Rockets are looking to offer Mo T 6~8 million. I think Mo will take it too. The key issue for the Rockets is Webber. I personally think it's a mistake to re-sign Mo if Webber has the starting PF spot. It's just not fair to either of them. Mo, however, also wants the Rockets to pick up a frontcourt player with mad rebounding skills. He knows he's a poor rebounder and feels it's better for chemistry if there's someone else who can grab the boards. Mo is the Rockets' to lose, but as long as Webber is a priority, Mo will shop around and see how much other teams want him. That's his right. But I think it's going to come down to Webber OR Mo. It's just too hard to give both players the money they want and the roles they deserve.

I'm a proponent of the ONE TWO punch system

If Moe + KT can give us WEBBER-LIKE numbers
    I would not complain.

    Much the same as
Francis + moochie > Kidd + his back up or Payton + his Backup

Cat + Francis > any other SG combo

I think Hakeem + Collier > any other Center
    combos [outside Duncan + robinson]

Waiting for next off-season is an interesting proposal. I think the Rockets would sooner re-sign Mo than risk losing him and getting nothing better later. But, I believe next offseason, there will be more good FAs than this offseason and it may well pay off to wait. But, we'd have to continue to be mediocre in the meantime, which may make Houston less attractive to the FAs we're trying to attract. So, I'd have to say don't take that chance.

If Mo signs for 6 mil, the rockets are essitially waiting for next year since Walt and Rogers will vacate about this amount.
