honestly, this is more like a tanking move to me for the Raptors barring the 0.0001% chance that Leonard signs next summer. There were a lot of talks about trading the core of Lowry and Derozan away after getting bounced again in the playoffs. They didn't give up any of their young pieces, if Leonard leaves, they clear themselves of Derozan's overpaid contract, Lowry leaves, and they just rebuild.

    We want

    Brandon Ingram
    Kyle Kuzma
    Josh Hart
    2 first round picks
    2 pick swaps

Fine, I guess we'll settle on

    Yakob Purple Turtle
    DeMar DeRozan
Late first (that turns into two seconds)

    :D

I assume you're talking about McGrady

Well, T-Mac wasn't just pretending to be hurt, he was actually done physically. Granted that was still a very unprofessional b**** move as well, but this is on a different level.

I think the "loss" for San Antonio is the same for every team that loses a star so you are right about that. You never get equal value back. Never. The Spurs just lost potentially the third best player in the NBA (assuming health), maybe 4th, definitely top 5. They got back a top 15ish player. They are worse and it hurts a franchise when an elite star leaves.

    I feel bad for them.

Actually I delight in their pain and am satiated by their tears.

But they gave up a pick. If they really wanted to rebuild and tank they could have traded DeRozan for a pick or an expiring contract.

I don't know.. I hear every year in the news that NY has horrible snowstorms, hurricanes and floods.

Seems like a mistake for raptors, derozen played great and yeah he faded a bit in playoffs but a lot of younger guys do [looking at you harden] but they can improve, I would’ve built around
    Derozen and dumped Lowry.

Works great for Spurs, obviously if the klaw stays in Toronto then it’s not a big deal but I’m thinking that’s unlikely.

Also him and Lowry seem to have polar opposite personalities

Think both teams got better. Kawhi wasn't going to play for San Antonio and getting Derozan gives them a proven scorer that they can hide on defense. If Kawhi reports, Raptors get a star that can also play defense...should put them among the contenders in the East with Lebron gone.

    Another **** post.
Ainge traded IT after he played in the POs injured and having lost his sister in a carcrash.
But now the story of poor Derozan will turn players off Toronto...

Wow if I was a sper fan, this is great news. Trade that pos to the last place he wants to play and make him lose money when he wants to choose another team.

I expect kawhi to try to get his injury in play again.

I like derozan. I think he's a very good player, can't explain the LeBron team thing though. Poetl is a serviceable player as well. Good offensive rebounder. Very young. Spurs did well enough and they get kawhi's camp crying (if trade goes through).

Demar on the Spurs is actually a nice fit for him.

Lol Derozan just got rid of Lebron and now will be seeing him again in the same conference...and oh yeah, the Warriors.

No wonder he didn't want to leave.

Yep, i also thought they were somehow going to get at least OG which would've been a good pieces for years but nothing...not even able to dump Mills but instead they trade Green, now they have still a couple of bad contracts, no shooters...i expect them to be very active with trades this preseason, not sure how they can start the season with that starting 5...

Would love if Houston was as amazing as Toronto. As much as I love our city, it’s pretty clear we have a ways to go before we really catch up to LA, Chicago, NY, and Toronto.
