Great wins are always followed by terrible losses with the Rockets. This will be no exception.

Boston's team is based completely on quickness and mobility.

If JJ can just stick with Ricky Davis a little, I'm confident Mobley won't let Pierce go off for 30 (unless he shoots 33+ times).

I think MoT and Francis will take this one for us. Boston don't have anyone big enough to match with MoT, that will help a lot.

 

Play our game and play our rythm.

A good chance to consolidate the position as Sonics just lost a game

Paul Pierce may score 30+, but it will take him 25 shots to do it. Francis has his 2nd good game in a row and Cato goes for a double-double.

 

They have played well at home against the East as well. Pierce goes for 40....

Boston's speed with Pierce and Davis will hurt us but if we can defend well,pass the ball around and make open shots then it might take some pressure off from Yao and make it easier for him to score in the paint.
I think it's going to be close but I can't predict the outcome. Anything can happen with the Rockets.

Look for the same double team treatment van gundy employed against tmac, for paul pierce, forcing him to give up the ball or shoot before he gets doubled. That leaves alot of rockets scrambling on defense against a good 3 point shooting team, which could be dangerous. I don't think Boston can rebound with us, or defend us well enough, but their offense will cause problems.

The Chronicle's article today said that Boston fronts every post player and then swings over with their weakside help; look for the Rockets to struggle there with getting Yao and Mo the ball where they want it.

Here's hoping JJ can continue his hot shooting streak and that Francis will be on enough to take over the game if need be.

I forsee a truly ugly game, but let's say the Rockets win.

 

well last year boston relentlessly double and triple teamed yao, many times before he even got the ball, and francis and mobley had huge games as a result of it and we won both games. so if they wanna keep doubling yao like crazy, here's to another win.

so lets actually discuss something...

like how the 2 times last year the rockets and celtics played each other, the rockets won....

both games mobley played great ...1st bostonVrox game last year mobley matched paul pierces 24 points...the 2nd game mobley had 31 points to pierce's 22 points.
AND the celtics were much better last year. and the rockets are an improved team this year.


7' Chris Mihm VS 7'-6" Yao Ming

mihm was a bench center for cleveland and im not sure how great of a defender he is but yao has about 35 pounds over him so i think this is potentially a huge mismatch and we should be punishing them with the big man mismatch all night tonight. force double teams and get wide open shots. set the plays up by yao posting up (he should be able to manhandle mihm) and then shooting his shot or kicking is back out to the perimeter.

True but Mihm is a great shotblocker so if he comes from the weakside Yao could have problems. Look for Boston to use the same strategy with Yao that the Jazz did.
