What motivation does the Thunder have to make it happen quickly? What motivation does Anthony have to make it happen quickly?
Where are these Yolo and the rest of those Ariza/LMM dooms day truthers and Melo haters? Call em out please before they hop back on these Rockets they need to take the year off as much hating they did in the Rockets!
If one is a regular on this board and do not think Woj and Shams tweets are not posted in a thread within a minute of publication, then one isn't paying attention.
Call out for what. you act like you havent been regurgitating stuff thats been discussed over and over. whats the point in replying to any of it. try coming up with something new. I'm not going anywhere.
I don't see how we do this trade without it pushing us over the luxury cap and requiring us to send out at least another 3 million in salary under the 125% plus 100K matching rule.
This Twitter podcast between @The Cat and @BimaThug has your answers. It is a great read for the current situation.
We want him at the MLE. Should he do good we can offer more money next year although we are in the luxury to keep him around
It’s funny that people think that voicing valid concerns about a player means you hate the Rockets and want them to fail.
its the common theme around here. if you present anything that doesn't go along with what their own tunnel vision can only see, its disregarded. simple minds aren't capable of thinking outside that box
But I like this reason, better. If OKC is concerned about making us better, then they could drag this out to keep him from us, and get most from CHI. btw: I'm confused. Would CHI buy him out, anyhow? If so, why do we care if the CHI trade happens or not?
Yes Chicago would buy him out. The only reason we would care if the CHI trade happens is that it may make Anthony available quicker, or it may mean the Rockets can save their MLE if Anthony has a smaller buyout and keeps more of his money. Right now this is a Mexican stand off with OKC not wanting to buy him out for anything approaching his full salary (so they can save tens of millions) and Anthony not wanting to give up much of his salary. The problem is right now, the OKC Thunder would likely have to give up a #1 and other assets to dump Anthony's full salary and save $100,000,000. Chicago knows that OKC has very limited ability to move Anthony.
Yes, Chicago world buy him out. Same thing Brooklyn did with Dwight. We care because it would hurry this process up a bit. They're negotiating behind the scenes how much less Melo is willing to take for his freedom. OKC wants a second round pick, it would also create a huge trade exception for them, which they would let expire to save money in taxes.
Won’t it become tougher to trade Melo closer to aug 31 deadline? Honestly, Chicago would up their askig price closer by then. It’s best to trade him to Chicago now
