How long do you wait before hanging up . . . when someone puts u on hold? a friend gets about 5 minutes business depends on whether i need them or they need me I generally put them on hold after 3 minutes or so and check it every 2 minutes or so 10 minutes on hold is just unreasonable to me Rocket River
It really depends on how many times I get put on hold. If I keep getting put on hold to get "transfered" to another person that can help me, 5 seconds seems like too long.
I once was on hold for over 40 minutes trying to get Dish Network to fix a billing problem. I'll never use them again because of that (of course, I may forgive them in 3 or 4 years). I usually stop waiting after 10-15 minutes of being on hold.
There are few things that make me angrier than being put on hold for such a long time - it happened to me on international calls, too. When that happens, the person really gets to hear an earful from me.
Sprint - 43 minutes Just yesterday called Verizon - 1 hour and 14 minutes. Yes I counted because I was pissed. And so was the customer whose account I was checking.
When I have my cell phone ear piece in, I'll go for considerably longer than normal. When it's me having to hold the damn thing, 5 minutes is too long.
I work customer service ... if an ******* customer pisses me off and b****es at me for being on hold 40 min, i do the ol, "hold please while i transfer you to the right department" another 40 min wait for being an ******* =)
What's the longest anyone's been on a phone (excluding hold)? I was on a cell phone for 9 hours once, with one one-minute break. Never been on hold for longer than 3 or 4 minutes.
LOL, I swear I was going to put that in myself. Then I thought "Why not brighten SJC's year by letting HIm say it?"
