did you get tired of listing everything? you left out the ones where it is everyone else's fault whether its system, players, coach etc
Yeah I am sure we are missing a few. It's incredible how desperate this place has become. A career selfish player with some pretty heavy baggage is seen as the guy that takes us over the hump against the Warriors. What happened to common sense?
I think people here can let it go. Just need to see it before they believe it. I think it’s a valid concern. The question is, can/will Melo be coachable and allow D’Antoni to do his job. He’s proven to be pretty good at it. I think coach will help Melo be successful in the role they need him to play. I’m not sure how much Melo has left in the tank, but feel like he can be successful if he’s open to changes to the next phase of his career. Side note: Noticed you’re being fair and open in other threads to what Melo should do if acquired by the Rockets.
That's because neither team bought into his coaching philosophy. When your team doesn't buy in, it's not going to work. When the players buy in, and the front office buys in and everyone is on the same page, it will work.
Y’all are forgetting one thing.... Playing 1 season with Westbrook will change your whole perspective on basketball. Melo will do anything after playing with that ball hogging, chucking, stat padding, monstrosity that is Westbrook.
Especially if someone else is paying the bulk of his salary. We'll have him on a 1-year contract and are under no obligation to retain him next year. If Melo wants a big contract next summer from anyone, he'll have to be a good soldier here and show he's still got that kind of value.
It takes time and buy-in from the entire organization - a good GM and owner who doesn't meddle with what he is not paid to do. NY and LA had some really meddlesome, egotistical managers who take sides. Houston, San Antonio, Golden State, Boston, - all have an owner, GM's, and a coach who run together. They work with what they have and always have flexibility in case some ego goes out of hand. BJ Armstrong is a really shi&%tty agent who looks out only for himself. He sold DMO's hopes and dreams and now he's doing it to Clint Capella. This is NFL - type stuff. It hurts the game, hurts development, and ultimately it hurts the player. If CC keeps this up, and comes to training camp with a bad attitude, I assure you he'll get no PT, Harden isn't gonna pass him the rock, and he's gonna end up in China next year. You can see how you can easily take CC out of the game... Draymond did it in the Finals. No effort really to nullify his impact on the game. You're gonna pay someone who could be so easily taken out max money? He ain't even got a jump shot.
Did you know Gerald Green was sitting on his couch playing basketball in his driveway with his dog contemplating retirement before the Rockets called him?
