I wonder if he’d be called athletic if everyone knew his dad was black?
Every thing I’ve seen from the kid says athletic big with some range, raw and needs some seasoning. Could flame out or become a solid player

Bye next year CC! At least try to win a championship this year! Never know where you’re gonna end up! Your price goes up higher if you get a ring this is your REAL contract year.

Are you r****ded? HOU never went after DJ bc they assume(d) they would get CC back. I’m 110% sure if HOU went after DJ and promised him a starting role he would be here right now.

Agree. HOU will also be able to finally unload that horrendous Anderson contract bc it would be looked at as a cap hold off the books for teams looking to add FA’s at top dollar. Again if CC takes the QA than I’m good with him gone and getting DJ at a reasonable price and shorter contract.

If we cleared Ryan Andersons contract then yes probably can give him a better offer. Right now they cant really give him that much anything can happen.

We need to use CC in a sign-and-trade to clear Anderson's contract now.

I just hope Rockets sign Capela and re-sign a healthy B. Wright to back him up like the orginal plan late last season.

His only advantage? How about the fact that his shooting range extends beyond 3 feet?

He was averaging 10/6 in the g league. JLin was putting up TD down there. He is probably 2 years away from being 2 years away.

With your history, I'm surprised you haven't made a post calling Hartenstein the next Dirk Nowitzki.

    Whomever.

The trade play here is obvious.

In the 2017 season these teams lost money:

    Hawks
    Nets
    Cavs
    Pistons
    Grizzlies
    Bucks
    Magic
    Spurs
    Wizards

The report for 2018 is not out yet....if it ever gets out. But perusing the payrolls of these teams.....things probably got significantly worse for some of them.

And I haven't even mentioned the Thunder...who have now hit the REPEATER LUXURY TAX and are facing a $180+ million tax bill unless they drop salary.

This is why they are scrambling to get rid of Melo....and others. And this is why guys like Stan Van the GM got fired (what a stupid trade taking on Blake's crap contract when the franchise was already bleeding) and Stan Van the coach subsequently quit.

It's also why the foregone conclusion was that the Cavs were getting out of the luxury tax, because they were losing money already, and they were facing the REPEATER LUXURY TAX this season just like the Thunder are.

So here we sit, down to two teams with approximately $20 million of cap space (Atlanta and Sacramento) and one of those teams trying to poach restricted free agents with its cap space (Sacramento).

That tells you cap space us at a PREMIUM. And who knows....we may be setting the market by being willing to give the Hawks two first rounders to take Anderson off our hands.

If so....and I suspect the Hawks are well aware of their catbird seat here.....then fur them to swallow Melo, it'll cost the Thunder at least one first rounder and a second.

What about other teams? The Wizards are up a creek. Well into the luxury tax again. And probably have lost a substantial amount of money two years running. Wizards really need to get out of the tax, especially with Wall's salary jumping to $37 million next season.

    There's others.

The opportunity here is in taking on salary. And we may be even better prepared to do that at the deadline if we get Capela signed to a reasonable enough long term deal now. But there's a good opportunity right now to move on from Anderson with a Capela SnT.

I admire your persistence in trying to trade Capela.

Holic's best quality as a fan is his steadfast refusal to consider the opinions of others (or reality, for that matter).
