So why couldnt the Rockets have done the same!!!

The Nets are taking a serious approach toward handling Griffin. They've hired a personal assistant to make living arrangements for him, as well as instituting a curfew in which he has to be in his hotel room or at home after 6 p.m.
Right now, basketball is the least of his worries,'' head coach Byron Scott said. ``He has to take care of things on the court and off the court, but we want him to feel a connection that this team is behind him.

    Too bad for H-town.....:(

That is called "protecting your investment."

Like you said, something I would have liked seeing the Rockets do.

The investment for the Nets is only 450K, for the Rockets it was 3 1st round picks. :(

    1. I'm too lazy to find the quote, but JVG did say Eddie had alot of personal problems he needs to take care of before he even thinks about basketball again. He supported him and wished him luck, but what else do you want him to do when EG misses practices, and scheduled workouts? What an ass.

    2. Eddie would be starting right now if Rudy were here? If so, Thank god he's gone.

Why everyone hates JVG is beyond me, he's exactly what this team needs. We've been soft the last 4 or so years, heading to the lottery. Now it appears the Houston fans have gone soft too. Van Gundy is bringing the toughness and winning mentality back to Houston. Wake up.

I think a team needs its core to go through a soft coach and a disciplined coach to know what mix of both it takes to win.

    Thank you too...

I am ok with second chances, even third, but beyond; it is just not standing up to what should be... regardless of money or draft picks.

6 PM curfew WTF. That worse than what Israel does to the Palestinians after a riot. He must be on drug watch. I bet he was into some major crack or herion to get that kind of curfew.

The "personal assistant" sounds more like a spy and a mother.

I guess I will look forward to see what he can do but as for what JVG and CD did. They did the right thing by getting him off our team.

Copied this off the *********** rumors page.

"EDDIE GRIFFIN was placed on the injured list Friday even though Coach BYRON SCOTT initially thought he might be able to play right away. Scott put Griffin through a workout in Philadelphia and discovered he was out of shape and is probably a couple of weeks away from playing. The Nets have restricted news media access to Griffin and surrounded him with a support team that includes a representative from the N.B.A. Players Association and a counselor the club hired to help him get settled. Griffin went to dinner with the Nets on Thursday and compared his new team with his old one, the Houston Rockets. "I can tell it's more like all the guys get along," Griffin said." NY Times

This guy is in serious trouble if he need someone to watch him all the time and a curfew at 6 p.m. It means that he cannot control himself not to do bad stuff whatever it is.

Good luck to him and I hope that he can become more mature.

However, the rocket had made right decision to cut him.
We have trouble enough concentrating on building the team and improving the basketball technique of everyone in the team.
I think wasting time watching him 24/7 is not worth it.

Then what are you doing at a Rockets fan site...
    go away already...
I'm not bashing you for your oppinion.. I'm just laughing at your ignorance... Logically you must have something better to do than post on a site about an organization that you "hate."

    three things...

    1. Go Rockets

    2. Eddie you are a dumbass that doesn't deserve a class act organization like the Rockets but I do hope you mature and make the best of your life (what he does offcourt is none of my business).

    3. this great site is named: www.clutchFANS.net or did I miss something!
