This whole Bregman walk-off thing is analytics to the tee. The 2-hole is the most important spot in the lineup because he comes up the most in important situations.

Bregman is not only proving that to be true, but he is coming through in those situations too. Moving him to the 2-hole is the best move they could have ever made.

So you want Giles to only pitch in games where the Astros are ahead by how many runs? Obviously not 4. Is 5 enough? Giles is supposed to be a key piece in the pen so he has to get work or he needs to get out of Houston.

Hinch can't just pitch Rondon, Devo, and McHugh in high leverage situations or they will be dead before October even starts. Hinch's job is literally to get Giles work so we know if he can be trusted when we need him in the fall.

Strangely enough... the Nationals were desperate to shore up their bullpen last year. They actually traded Treinen (who started the year as their closer and was removed for Giles like behavior, rocking a 5+ ERA and a 1.6 WHIP) to get Madison and Doolittle.

Crazy ending, but Tucker has to be more aware IMO

After Lucroy releases ball to 1st, he should've been running. He hesitated long enough for them to get a out at first and throw home for DP.

A.J still deserves a huge slap in the face picking Giles in the 9th. Luhnow deserves a slap trading for Giles and forcing A.J to pitch Giles in the 9th. If Luhnow can trade Josh Fields for Yordan Alvarez. Giles needs to be traded for a top prospect

Anyone know who the guy was sitting to Kalas left during the broadcast? He didn't budge in the replay shown from behind Blummer and Kalas. Just curious is all...

Giles can only pitch in save situations and blowout losses. It's just not fair to him to pitch him in any other situation, how can he be expected to function?

I hope he's not around here much longer.

We need a marquee trade deadline acquisition to inspire the team again

Blake Treinan is better than Giles, Rondon. Can we trade for him. This was his back to back stint and his first blown save. He has a Fastball, Slider and a Sinker. That sinker is special. Sinker for a lot of Strikouts and Groundball double plays. He has this Fearless, Angry look on his Face, excellent delivery. Locates his pitches. Giles has this dumb, scared looked on his face,His Fastball is Flat and his slider batting practice and easy to hit. Rondon has this nervous look too. Treinan is a must have for the Astros.

Bye Bye Mariners, they going to be 4 games behind. 3 runs scored and 0 RBI by P.Tucker is something you will rarely see from him.

yep.. treinen struggled early on last year, similar to how he did this year. but he was removed from that role pretty early IIRC. i dont even think it lasted the full first month of the season. once he got to oakland, he was pretty good last year.

Honestly, though, Giles HAS to be gone soon, right? I seriously cant imagine anybody on the team wants him there.

Treinen has been good for a while and fantastic this year. Don't like him as a closer, use him as a setup guy.

Giles reminds me of Pabelbon. Always drama when he comes to pitch in the ninth.
