He is not All Star level at all. Plus, his numbers are inflated to me, especially after CP3 joining. Our elite PGs is the main reason.
5/85 would be incredibly fair for Capela, especially with a potential 5 mill in incentives. I really hope that's Moreys top offer, and I really hope that it would be a declining deal.
Wow 25 mil per year? What's capela's agent smoking? I wouldnt go anywhere above 20/year with a team option and even that's pushing it. I like Clint but the dude can't shoot and still has a lot to prove. It's so aggravating to have Anderson's deadweight contract on the payroll. I'm sure Capela is constantly looking over at him and thinking he deserves more since Ryan just sits on the bench. What an absolute blunder of a signing that was.
It’s really crazy that a ZERO-offense-skills center want 25 million dollars per season... Unbelievable...
If he takes the QO this year and only makes barely more than the offer we are offering. He wasted 15 million this year. Going to be hard just to get that back. Will take 2-3 years to make what he missed back on a max. If this was his last contract Id be more understanding. But hes going to get another one if he plays like he has.
On a side note, capela got bigger every year which I’m sure helps with his improved skills but I wonder if he will get even bigger this year
It’s hard to argue w that but you know damn well Morey isn’t opersting under the “two wrongs make a right” philosophy. Besides, Anderson’s deal was struck during the silliest silly season in sports history. It’s certainly not Morey’s fault that the market for Capela is simply non-existent. Regardless I’d be shocked if the rockets agree to anything over $20m a season... 5/$90m sounds plenty fair though.
I say pay him his free throw percentage over four years. If he shoots better than 80%, he’s worth it.
$60m for 4 years seems reasonable in this market, rockets could bump it up a little bit, but won't be much, otherwise, other teams won't perceive him as value.
20M/year should get it done. Not that far off. 20M per year is a good deal for him. Also, Rockets get to keep a high impact player that is still improving and one that they cant afford to lose out on. Capela would be stupid to walk away from it. Rockets would be stupid not to offer it.
lol let him sign the QO and move on. If he's passing on $17 mill per year then he (or his agent or both) is far more delusional than I thought. He'll be hard to replace next summer but it's not like we've never been down this path before with exiting centers.
