Hopefully there are actual good options in the buy-out market this time (i.e. not Joe Johnson)

I was indifferent about the Rockets losing Ariza. It wasn't a big deal.

Mbah a Moute on the other hand...that is one role player that I absolutely did not want the Rockets to lose. This sucks.

Losing Luc over 4.3 mil seems short sighted to me. What happened to "run it back"?

Our defense has taken some big hits. Right now we are a worse team than last year.

Morey better get something done to improve the team.

I’m optimistic when there is a reason to be optimistic.

No reason to be optimistic watching the Rockets lose their 2 best perimeter defenders and 2 best small forwards, especially when the goal is to beat the Warriors.

We’re still the 2 seed. Still going to win 55+ games. But we took a big step back this offseason when we couldn’t afford to with our short title window. Plain and simple.

I really think it is his shoulder that Morey wasn’t going to gamble on. We still don’t know how bad it was and still no surgery. It is what it is let’s move on and see what happens.

Exactly that. That shoulder is most likely done and Luc was probably instructed by the brass to get as much as possible on the market.

Nick Wright said it best. We took GS to 7 and Luc wasn’t even playable. Of course, we bring him back at the vet min but Rockets rightfully picked Melo over Luc. We couldn’t have gotten both

Yeah now that I think about it there are indeed legit concerns about his shoulder.

Paying 15M to Ariza is a no go, despite posters here ranting the Rox aint gonna pay 15M for Ariza, thats just too much money. If there are still issues with Luc's shoulder then thats why he wasnt brought back even if the asking price was just 4M. Lets see whoo else the Rox signs.

When your “two” best defenders offer you nothing in the playoffs are they really the best?

Add Melo and the points Ariza didn’t generate in game 7 appears.

Add Melo and the points Luc didn’t generate all series magically appears.

    Ironically, Melo.

    Joe Johnson 2.0

Add Melo and remove Ariza and there is no Game 7. Series is over in 4 or 5 because Warriors keep attacking Melo on defense and keep scoring over 120 points.

The 10 extra points Melo gives you on low % volume chucking is not going to make up 20-30 points he gives up on the other end with the same amount of playing time.

I want a ClutchFans where people think things through at least half as much as @The Cat before posting their moronic hot takes.
