You are spot on. "Winning the genetic lottery" is the dimishing phrase that's tossed around.

Seriously, I always hate when people say “athletes shouldn’t make that much money” when they are just getting paid pennies compared to the owners. They generate a huge amount of revenue and they get a fair share of that... that’s just how the world works. I wish teachers made more but nobody pays to watch teachers teach a class full of students.

Clint's value against Warriors is even less once Cousins is back in the lineup.

Hopefully, the Rockets can get him back for less than that.

Considering no other team wanted to beat the QO. 4/80 is too much. Need to bring it back to 4/56-60 range and call it good.

The French getting into the breaking news business

    Translated from French by Microsoft

NBA Info of the day: After the trade of the Night (Biyombo in Charlotte, Mozgov in Orlando), the Magic seeks to free itself from the contract of Nikola Vuèeviè. Possible deal with Houston coming up, Ryan Anderson in the balance.

Vueevie (Frenchie) is also dope instead of Vucevic, but hey, the rest of the translation seems to be better than average.

The suns, Mavs, and Nets rumors to offer max or near max is why he’s holding out. He’s probably thinking if it weren’t for a few bad breaks he’d be sitting on max money. And he might be right....

If I were him I’d be wondering if next summer the market would be more favorable to get even more. It’s a risk to wait but if the differential is $30-40m it’d also be a risk to take a lesser contract knowing if you can play well for another year, stay healthy, you might be leaving way too much money on the table.

Suns got Ayton, Mavs got DeAndre.....so the interest fell off.

I think there were only so many teams with interest for a Center.

Some of the reasoning these posters are putting forward is comical. You should take it and be happy, because it's a lot of money.

If we are close to 4/48 and not budging then I would take the QO if I were Capela. I'm not sure if he would get 4/80 on the open market, but he would easily get more than 12 million per year. I'm still confident cooler heads will prevail and we will meet somewhere in the middle, or agree on a shorter deal.

Man Clint better take what the Rockets are offering. Especially if it's in the ballpark of 15-20 million per year. That's a substantial increase from his current pay. And as we have can see no other team thinks highly of him.

Ryan Anderson is making 20 and they are offering me 12. I would take QO if I was Clint. There will be 7-10 teams with max money next year.
