If he does though I can't really see how it is a positive. If the Rockets have any chance next year he will have to play out of his mind with even more improvement. That will still not be enough. If he does then he gets a giant contract. If he does not etc etc. Oh wells it was nice knowing you Harden, it was worth a shot haha

He did not bargain for that much and he probably thought we'd win the Finals and then he could at least bring Capela back long term.

Shelburne comes out of her shell.

If he doesnt like the offers on the table, then playing one year on a qualifying offer would likely be his best option and a poor outcome for the rockets.

Taking that route, would make him a UFA to which the rockets cant sit back and wait to see and match whatever offer he can get in the market. As a UFA, Rocket would be risking losing out completely after developing him.

Capela is the kind of big man with mobility thats well suited to the modern NBA. If he can ever develop a jump shot and stays healthy, would become an exceptional man

How many teams (without a center) are projected to have a max slot next summer btw, anybody has an idea? I read that agents are telling Clint to wait next summer since there'll be more money to get, plenty of teams with cap space willing to offer him a max...is that even realistic?

    - Contender will not have cap space outside of the Spurs...if you consider them a contender of course, and i don't.
    - Kings will have Cauley-Stein restricted, Bagley and Giles on the roster.
    - Bulls will have Wendell Carter and Markkanen playing, Portis restricted, still Felicio on the roster, Asik too i think.
    - Orlando just drafted Bamba and will still have Biyombo.
    - Brooklyn has Allen.
    - Indiana has Turner and Sabonis
    - Phila has Embiid.

I think, Dallas, Clippers, Lakers, Hawks and New York might go after him, maybe the Bucks...i'd take Atlanta and the L.A teams out here for various reasons (star chasing and drafting a center). I'd say Dallas (unless they'll keep DeAndre), Knicks and Spurs might be the real threats.

Morey letting the market dictate Capela’s worth... something he routinely does...

Didn’t the mavs just sign Deandre Jordan to a huge 1 year deal? 24 million or something like that?

It’s almost like they’re biding their time until someone becomes unrestricted next offseason...

I have a source saying that Rokman's source is legit and Shelbourne's source is trash.

He’s so much better skilled and versatile than Asik. This is a bad comparison

I dont blame the Rockets for not giving Ariza what he was asking for. But if we don't re-sign Capela THIS summer, then that's a HUGE HUGE mistake. I don't see Morey doing that kind of mistakes... I expect him to sign a multiyear throughout July.

It took 3-4 years to find and discard a big like Dmo.....he is whippin himself with his Hit and Miss strategy.

For every Capela, there is going to be a Jordan Hill and Joey Dorsey.
