Probably still waiting on Capela tbh. I dont think Brandan Wright has a ton of offers over the league minimum on the table. I would hope the Rockets keep him in their sights because he could be a really good back up.
@TheSteinLine: "There is also no indication thus far that a team out there is on the brink of luring him [Clint Capela] out of Houston."
Tyson Chandler (TC)— (Tyson) Chickens try to fly. Kelly Oubre— someone Cod likes. He liked my post mentioning that and I believe he is very close to the Wizards brass. And Courtney Lee— former Rocket and potential great fit.
Just a little Wizards insight here (well, not really, since anyone who has followed them should know this): their #1 priority hasn't been winning. It's been about cap management and making money, which is why Ernie is one of the longest tenured GMs out there and probably has the worst track record in terms of winning among GMs with similar experience on one team. They have punted draft picks time and time again in order to save money. They chose to match Porter on his deal because they couldn't let him walk for nothing and they also believed he was a rising star. They really were disappointed last year and though Kelly Oubre was better at times. So I'm not surprised at all if they decide to find a quick exit from Porter's deal. I hope that it may not even have to cost Gordon. Again, it's about selling tickets and making money in DC. Leonsis already has his winner in the Capitals. He's not going to want to spend money on the Wizards unless it's for a sure thing. They really regret the Porter match.
I thought Oubre would be close to untouchable for the Wiz but whatever. If we land him I'll also cream myself
I need to create a spreadsheet of all the devout followers of The Otto Porter Movement so that Clutchfans will recognize our evangelical work over the past 48 hours speaking this into existence
The friend not feeling so great for the long haul is Capela? At least that’s my assumption. He’s not happy with market, provably lil sour the Rockets won’t just pay him.. could see him sign one year tender and then test market next year as UFA.
You need to maintain self control, brother. Without offspring you cannot pass on The Otto Porter Movement
I think the mutual benefit would be 3 years with a player option for year 3. He'll be re-entering free agency when more teams have cap room
FWIW, Oubre “flexin” good be more indicator of OPJ being the odd man out than the other way around. Oubre would be looking for a more expanded role and Washington could capitalize on OPJ’s value. Plus, adding Howard makes losing Porter more palatable.
