    So basically the Lakers are willing to give the Spurs Ingram and a bunch of nothing so the Spurs can trade Leonard and take on the contract of Deng?

    That isn't going to happen.

    Also, is anyone else sick of Ramona "two burritos" Shelburne? She is nothing but a mouth piece for the Lakers management and owner.

    If the Lakers won't trade Kuzma, Ingram, and a first rounder for Kawhi, that's just dumb on their part. They could instantly become contenders with both Kawhi and LeBron locked in for 4 years. IDK...

    They might be THAT certain he will come in another year, so why not use those assets to maybe trade for another piece? Create depth for when Kawhi joins. It’s a gamble, but also, nobody else can really compete with LA and how many teams are gonna give a first for a guy they know is going to bail in a year? With the Celtics supposedly withdrawing from the the table, I think LA is probably doing the right thing.

    Or his only desire is to play in LA. Not necessarily for the Lakers.

    They are playing "hardball" just like the rockets did last yr with the melo ordeal (although I dont think morey was ever really willing to pay the price). It could come back and haunt them. If Kawhi really wants out then he could just expand the list of teams he would consider resigning with. If he doesnt then it will be a long yr as the 2 sides go back and forth. Then of course...the lakers also played hardball in the pg13 sweepstakes. They didnt get him, EVEN in FA...so they run that risk as well. Overall assessment...they are stupid and didnt learn from their own mistakes and even others. Just dumb.

    If he ends up with the Clippers, I wish every Rockets fans who viewed this as Lakers getting better would stop the whole feeling sorry for Pops and the Spurs org routine.

    Now that GSW signed Cousins, Spurs are fixing to get screwed for failure to trade Kawhi sooner, lulz.

    There is a good chance no contender views trading youth and future assets worth it this year, if GSW is just going to steamroll the league, anyhow. Might as well wait until he becomes a free agent, or for Pops to drop his asking price

    ... so sad, Pops and Spurs are taking a beating on their screw up.

    The Clippers have better assets and can offer picks. I’f love it if the Spurs traded KL to the Clippers it some team out east to get assets in return. With Kuzma off the table and Randle gone the only player worth anything is Ingram, and that’s not enough. If tue Lakers get great I’d wait it out to see if they can get another team involved to sweeten the pot. And if that doesn’t work I’d let KW play all year for the Spurs then let him walk. Let Lebron wait another year before he gets another all star, then free up cap space.

    it's obvious to me so far that
    Shams = Spurs spokesperson
    Woj = Lakers spokesperson.
    That's why their reports lately contradict each other.

    Spurs clearly need to make the CLIPPERS a viable trade destination to get the Lakers to up their ante.

    Sounds like Ingram is off the table right now for LAL. And that Fultz is off the table for PHI. Probably the same for Brown and BOS.

    Ingram should most definitely be on the table if a deal can be closed. I can understand why the Sixers and Celts want to hold back Fultz and Brown. Three 1st rounders + Saric and Covington should be enough from the Sixers and Brown's role on the defensive end for the Celtics is truly difference-making. (Laugh if you want, I'm still a believer in Fultz).

    Kawhi and Ingram play the exact same position. Long term, Lakers can't keep both guys. I don't get it.

    LeBron chose Lakers over Rockets for life style and cowardice, and thought he could use himself to form semi super team in LA for dog and pony show.

    He is finding out the hard way that none of the stars want to play with the egoistical clown.

    Chris Paul was his best bet. Not only was Chris willing to play with him, but offered him the best chance to beat the Warriors and extend his legacy.

    Anyone who compares this clown to Michael Jordan needs to be smacked. Jordan's competitive spirit would put winning over anyone and anything. You think Jordan would give up revenge for LA lifestyle??? He would give up everything to take down the Warriors instead of cowering away and hiding behind his family.

    For many years the Clippers were a preferred destination because (1) it was LA and (2) there were little or no expectations because nobody cared. Getting overshadowed by the Lakers and playing stress-free most nights was the best of both worlds.

    Maybe the CP3/Blake/DJ era blew that up permanently.

    Wait I thought the narrative was that MJ would never team with CP3 because he was too much of an Alpha to team up with others. He wanted to beat them not join them.

    not really.

    During the past 5 travel, LAL have been pathetic missing the playoff. On the flip side, Clip had their best 5-yr in their history, making th playoffs every year. Yet, LAL had better attendance.

    Can you name a FA, of starter quality, that had sign w the Clips?

    a change in culture/direction w Jerry West framing the new narrative/guidance
