ha there was so much anticipation for those games. if new york couldve been halfway into it or organized, this game couldve had a playoff feel to it. thats why i suppose i feels so elated to be where we are.

you have to wonder whats going on inside patrick ewings head during the game. the whole situation is so ironic

this has gone on as long as i have watched the rockets. houston gets no respect.

even at the beginning of the game when kurt thomas hit a halfway decent shot that putz marv albert was yelling "YES!" like it was MJ shooting in the last seconds of a final

fantastic game on both ends for the rockets

although the 100 pt plateau won't be in sight for a while longer I suspect :D; we still played a helluva ball game.

we saw VINTAGE francis with the sweet crossover and the jumper.

wish we could see more of that with the offensive scheme we currently have, who knows..... maybe we will.

solid win for the rockets and nice to pick up one before we play boston on sunday.

We had only 16 assists for 111 points... A lot of individual works and a win.

I never expected us to win this big. I think whenever teams are defensively ready against us,we can't score from the inside or from the outside but when teams don't defend well we can score fairly easily and have a good chance of winning.
I don't expect this to change but I'm glad that we came out as the aggressors and that is what we need to do much more often and execute. I don't want to take anything away from our guys but part of the reason for winning is because the Knicks haven't played together since the trade but I'm very glad to see us bounce back tonight.

Yao sets the tone for the entire game right in the first few minutes. If Yao is turning the ball over and missing shots, it's almost always a loss. I've yet to see the Rockets win one with Yao playing as badly as he played against the Pistons.

Good win for the Rockets, But I expected them to win. Now we need to get more consistant with our offense then we'll be straight. Defense is always there but we need to put the ball in the basket like we did tonight for the rest of the season. Did ya'll notice how Steve was gaining confidence as the game wore on?

Yes, I noticed that too. The offensive schemes tonight allows for a little bit more flexibility to the players. Francis did a few nice cross-over; but he had wonderful passes at the beginning. Yao was also allowed to play outside games and hit a couple long range. Even Cato did that too.

The nice set up was at the beginning of the games when our Francis passed around, the big guys scored, and JJ hit his treys. That pretty much open up everything for the whole game. Even with the NY mini-run in the second quarter, we still managed to re-adjust to take over.

    Good game. :)

    Excellent win for Houston!!

Rockets are now 6-0 against the Atlantic with 3 road wins against "better" teams in that division.

If we can win the next 3, we will be closer to sweeping the division.
And the next 3 should be manageable (Boston twice and at Washington)

Easy win, as I thought it would be. The Knicks were atrocious before they got Marbury... and they're still lousy with him.

Great games from most of our players.

    Francis great.
Yao very nice...I don't know..isn't he supposed to be tired?!? he was fine.
Cato actually made all his free throws! Good job. We owned Kurt Thomas and Dikembe and Harrington.
Moochie actually made 4 out of 5 3's!!
Jim Jackson was awesome..the man. If he makes his shots..he can add an additional 15 points a night..when he doesn't make shots..we lose those 15 points..I hope he can keep it up!
    Mobley good.

Great win. I remember last year...we lost to the Knicks..I think twice..we got whooped by them in Houston. Mainly because of Sprewell.

    Great game! :p

Our announcer in Toyota Center isn't much worse than their announcer..all the same.

FIRE CHANEY! :p Isaiah Thomas did not look happy.

The Knicks had like no chemistry at all. NONE. They do have lots of talented players though.

    This is such a misconception.

Marbury is sort of an A- player. Outside of him... what do they have?

Allan Houston - one dimensional. Van Horn - one-dimensional. Kurt Thomas - he'd be a great 7th man on a good team.

The Knicks will still struggle to make the playoffs in the East. They're a bad team. Getting Marbury didnt' change that.

    Just came back from MSG.

WOW!!! What a great game! I think that first quarter was tremendous. It was important to basically shut the Knicks and their fans up after the standing ovation given to Marbury. I really liked the defensive hustle and overall effort. If you can combine it with that great shooting touch we had, then this team will be very dangerous...then again it was only against the Knicks.

Chants of "Fire Chaney" were common and loud throughout the latter part of the game and was painfully obvious at the end. I think he's gone if the Knicks seriously don't start winning soon.

Anyway, this year's crowd was a lot less pro-Rockets than in the past. Maybe Yao's luster is fading a bit, although there were a lot of Yao-fans out there. There's always pockets of vocal Rockets fans throughout MSG, which is nice.

Although after finally seeing a game at the Toyota Center in December, the MSG crowd definitely beats the Houston one. They have a lot more passion win or lose and the average fan seems to be heck of a lot more interested about the game itself. Just an observation...I just wish Houston fans in Houston would show up more and put a little passion into it. Any quick fixes for this besides I guess winning a lot more games?

Anyway great win, we need to keep the momentum up.

Maybe Rudy T can take Chaney's coaching position like he did with the Rockets.

I went to the game tonight and I had a few observations. I also went to the Rockets-Knicks game at the Garden last year as well. Some of my thoughts:
    1) I think Knicks fans are despicable for chanting "Fire Chaney." It is extremely distrespectful and I could never imagine Houston fans doing this. If they don't like the coach, fine, but at least respect him. He's trying his best and chanting these comments during the game can only distract him from trying to get his team back in the game.

    2) In last year's game, Knicks fans cheered Yao Ming in the introduction. This year they booed him. Everyone I sat around was amazed at how big he was and they were amazed at his range. He reminded me of Rick Smits out there., That's not a negative comparison. He was a pretty good center for a decade.

    3) Knicks fans are more tempermental then Univ. of Texas fans (I went to UT, I should know). They were constantly asking why Allen Houston was in the game and were saying he sucked. How sad. Throughout the game, statistics were shown on the screen and a couple of them indicated that not only does Houston lead their team in free throw percentage, but also FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE! Everyone's entitled to a bad game. Relax Knicks fans.

    4) Boy I wish I wish I could have listened in on the trash-talking between Marbury and Francis. Finally Francis put Marbury in his place.

great game all around. this is the game that francis needed to take over. the other night i was arguing the point that he did not play to his max potential with only 2 pts. but 12 assist. well last night he tried to match that game and the outcome was different. with mo t and cato pretty much a blank he should have come out on fire. well this game i feel he felt that and he took it to take over the game and he did. he knew that marbury always lights him up and he took the challenge and the outcome was in our favor.........

thanx rox this was the best birthday gift i have had in a long time....:D
