It doesn't matter if u think Clint worth or not worth this much. It's the market that dictates his value. See Ryno. You can make an argument on CC s number due to Harden and CP. However CC skill set will and command some values in this league.
Case in point, you see how much Ariza is getting paid??? Best case scenario is Morey work out a deal with CC sort of like CP contract where we balance the money with number of years. CC around 13 millions a year for 4 years
I guarantee that he grabs 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks and the best switching BIG in the NBA wherever he goes.
Well good luck on that one now.... he can either rot somewhere on a dead team or make some decent but not great money and win with us.
2 things. 1) $13 Million a year? Is that a joke or a typo? That’s not even remotely close to what he’s going to get. 2) The market will dictate how much he’s going to get paid and it will be up to us to match it. If you were serious about 13 expect to be shocked.
There really isn't a market for Clint right now, and he knows it. If I'm him and his agent, take 2 years 30 million, ball the f**k out, and hit FA again at 26 without strings in a better market. If Morey offers one year 15 million, I would take that too (not sure why we would). A long term, less than market deal would not be wise.
This doesn't get talked about enough. His ability to stick with quicker players on the arc is remarkable, DPOY Gobert doesn't even come close to matching Clint in that regard
Why did a young non contending team throw money at Ariza the way they did, even for just one year? If I was them, I would continue to tank and stock pile.
I was here and Dwight the Glass Superman couldn’t/wouldn’t (looks the same) run plays and Asik’s career highlights were with us... PLUS CP3 was not here either.
Young teams often need a veteran or two that knows how to win to help mentor the young players. Evidently, that is worth 15M to the Suns. I like Trev a ton and think he is a helluva player, but I don't know that he is worth 15, but more power to him for getting it.
Which is why he's sad. Dallas isn't an option. Phoenix isn't an option. Now LA isn't an option. I'm sure Clint is fine remaining a Rocket. In fact, he probably wants to be here. But it's unlikely now that he's a Rocket on a max deal. A week ago, that not only seemed likely, it seemed almost certain.
I agree. Capela's young enough and has been pretty damn healthy that betting on himself in this scenario works out in his favor (and possibly the Rockets' as well).
