Having just finished lunch, I figured this is a good time to start this very important topic Tale of the tape: Pain rating - Constipation has a pain rating of about 4/10. Not really much of a "pain", but more of a general discomfort that really gets annoying after a while. When you're trying to squeeze a huge one out, it can be pretty stressful on the ole' anal sphincter. Diarrhea always seems to sting pretty badly for about ten minutes after I'm done with a session. Advantage - Diarrhea Annoyance factor - Both require frequent trips to the bathroom, but at least with diarrhea, I know I'm getting results out of my hard work. There's just this feeling of disappointment whenever you're in the bathroom for five minutes with nothing to show for it. Diarrhea has a longer clean up time. Advantage - constipation. Treatment - Personally, I never really "treat" diarrhea. I just let it run its course and drink plenty of water. Those rectal suppositories just look so...wrong, and mineral oil tastes nasty. Advantage - constipation Possible adverse effects - Let constipation linger around too long, and lord knows the kind of stuff that can back up in there. Plus, if you strain too hard on the toilet, you can get hemorrhoids. Dehydration from diarrhea can sneak up on you without realizing it and can be fatal, though that's more of a third world problem. Advantage - push So, it looks like constipation is the winner, 2 to 1. Remember to keep eating that fiber!!
constipation is so much worse. the feeling of being bloated and knowing "you're full" but can't do a damn thing about it is one of my biggest pet peeves in life. at least with the other option, you're still getting rid of waste, albeit in a poor fashion.
Having been up around 1:00 early monday morning and not being able to sleep until 7. It was coming out of both ends, after that, constipation is worse then diarrhea, but throwing up around 6 times in 5 hours beats them both.
Damn...rough, no-win question. Kind of like asking "how you would want your balls bitten off...by a shark or a grizzly bear!"
Diarrhea is worse, by far. Especially if you are in an environment where going to the bathroom is not an option; work, public school, etc. I can't believe there's actually any room for debate over this.
I've never been constipated, thank God (I'm thinking it has something to do with the fact that I eat greasy Mexican food at least once a day), but I think it'd have to be far worse. To me, the thought of not being able to take a dump is akin to not being able to get a ring off of your finger. It'd freak me out.
I've got a 2YO who is resisting doing #2 on the potty (she has done it 3 times), but just last night she took a dump in her panties twice (one for me, one for the wife). I'll go with diarrhea... looking at it from this angle.
Diarrhea is so much worse. I agree with AntiSonic, diarrhea can strike you at any given moment. There's nothing worse than sitting at a football game and having to catch yourself as it hits you. Diarrhea def. Constipation
Has to be constipation. Your reasons for diarrhea are that you have to hold it in when it strikes. That's sorta the feeling of constipation right there. The actual ACT of taking a dump (diarrhea) is less painful than holding it in (constipation).
Who wants to have what a friend of mine called "asspiss," when you do not defecate solids, but liquids? Not I. Either way, it is going to be mighty uncomfortable.
Diarrhea for me is much worse than constipation. I never like to use public toilets and sometimes with the squirts you have no choice. There has been a few times with diarrhea that I have come very close to crapping my pants. It always seems to get you while driving in the middle of nowhere or in a store with no restroom.
Who's In Charge of The Body All the organs of the body were having a meeting, trying to decide who was in charge. The brain said: "I should be in charge, because I run all the body's systems, so without me nothing would happen." "I should be in charge," said the stomach, "because I process food and give all of you energy." "I should be in charge," said the heart, "because I pump the blood and circulate oxygen all over the body, so without me you'd all waste away." "I should be in charge," said the rectum, "because I'm responsible for waste removal." All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down tight. Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache, the stomach was bloated, and the blood was toxic. Eventually the other organs gave in. They all agreed that the rectum should be the boss. The moral of the story? You don't have to be smart or important to be in charge... just an a$$hole.
As a father of three I can say that I would rather clean constipated fecal matter rather than diarrhea. As far a personal preference I would always rather have diarrhea. My case is a little different in that due to a surgery I had about 10 years ago, if I get constipated it can lead to my bowels pinching off which leads to a trip hospital. Advantage - Constipation
