That 4th year is gonna be a b****, but that's the price of winning. Locking up CP3 assures us of deep playoff runs for the next few years.
Yeah, but you cannot let him walk if you are Morey. Especially with the chemistry we had this season. For any incoming superstar, it can be a coin toss as to whether they will fit in with our roster. Remember, the Thunder were supposed to be title favourites during the offseason last year. The President of the NBPA is not going to take a paycut. It is what it is and he knew that he had all the leverage so that is a smart business move for him. If we get stuck with this deal going forward, so be it.
0-12 in game 7! He’s 33 years old. This was his best year in a while (ahem contract year)! Ariza is hot garbage from here on out. Good riddance!
Agreed last 2 years on CP3s contract is gonna suck BUT Harden is in his prime and we took Warriors to 7 games and almost beat them in the playoffs. If we can get a championship (somehow), overpaying in the finals years for CP3 will be worth it. This is our best hope with no Lebron/PG coming to Houston. With that said.....HOLY SH*T, that is a fk ton of money for CP3! Just woww
So happy it’s for 4 years and not 5. This is huge for the Rockets. This is to a healthy and successful 4 years. Bright days ahead for the Rockets.
While i can understand the why, I really dont like the deal and dont see how the team will improve going forward. I dont believe the team is good enough as is and needed 1 or more pieces to be added. CP3 will only decline and be more injury prone going forward, putting more stress on Harden. By the time we are out of the Anderson contract, we will be saddled with the worse CP3 contract. The only hope is that Anderson resurrects or can be traded for a quality 4 star quality player.
If you were asked if you wanted CP3 at 4 years 160mil for 2018 onward last season before any of you thought CP3 was a legitimate possibility, you'd j*zz your pants and CF would collectively write 450 pages on how it could be done. Stop whining. We have another superstar locked up.
So now we all gotta hope he plays so well over 4 years that he gets that max in the 5th year after all!
The thing is, CP is more of a player that brings a type of culture with him. Anderson's a player that can be replaced. But Chris Paul brings a certain type of atmosphere that breeds winning. I can totally see Chris Paul taking a coaching position or possibly a front office position once he goes into retirement. So I can see why the Rockets would give him that contract based off his influence on other things besides what goes on on the court
Good news after I heard about Trevor. Let's revamp the bench as well. 30-40 million though? Wow. GGreen also on board.
aesthetically and psychologically he is the most pleasing pg to watch...he is a joy to watch just dribbling the ball...bbiq through the roof
