In his last two games played, Alex Bregman is 7-for-10 with 5 doubles and 2 home runs. Last three he’s 9-14 with 5 doubles and 3 HRs
He’s coming close to reminding some of Derek Jeter’s debut seasons. Has some intangibles that are comparable as well. Not sure if he was ever compared to him at draft time, but he could end up even better.
Whoa big boy, you can call me a liar all you want (even though you are 100% wrong, I’ve lied about nothing here) But don’t you ever, EVER, accuse me of using the lords name in vain. I don’t go there bud. We can discuss/argue baseball and posts all you want, but NEVER again accuse me of that. Am I clear?
Bregman said his game-winning AB was only the 2nd time all season he's swung and missed at two consecutive fastballs. "That was the first guy I've swung and missed two straight fastballs on this year I think besides (Luis) Severino," Bregman said. "So it kind of ticked me off." Dude really pays attention to his craft. Last season, Verlander said he'd never seen a player who loves baseball as much as Alex does.
The Astros could do a lot worse to draw Yankee dynasty comparisons. Invariably, every time they're about to shatter some record pace, its of a Yankee team from decades ago. Its only fitting that they draw some comparisons amongst the individual players as well. I'm all for the Astros planting quite the historical flag of this era... that future great teams end up being compared to HOUSTON teams, and not other older historical teams that have an advantage simply based on being around longer.
I think he has a chance to be the best of the bunch, and that’s saying something with the group of talent we have
Yea I’d just rather say he could be the next Biggio, rather than jeter, who wasn’t as good as Craig but played for the Yankees so......
The only current knock on Bregman is his error-count... but that could be Caminiti-type stuff, where he gets to balls most others wouldn't, so there was never a chance for them to have an error.
He could be... but with rings.... which is basically what elevated Jeter. Out of all the young stars they have, Altuve still has the inside track on being as close to both a future first ballot HOFer and a career Astro...which has to put him in the running to possibly supplant Biggio as this franchise's iconic all-time player.
Yankees lose. Angels tied, from being down 6-0 vs BOS. A great night in the standings could get better.
