I have thought for a while now that Philly makes a lot of sense for Kawhi. They have the assets and the timeline is good. Brown is a coach Kawhi knows. And Kawhi can still be the introvert with Embiid taking the attention.
My guess is they will be aggressive and go for it without the commit since they are young and can be a contender. Gives them a full season to woo him and show him how good it can be there. This would be the Morey move. The fact that Philly made the trade to get the Miami 2021 pick tells me they will be aggressive.
"Although the Lakers came away feeling like San Antonio "shut the door on us" and the conversation never progressed or included a formal trade offer, the Spurs haven't ruled out sending Leonard to any destination, league sources said." ...I guess.
Ramona sucks. She is friends with the Lakers owner and that is about it. She never just reports anything, she always is extremely biased. Also that fluff piece on Leonard she wrote 6 weeks ago, where she claimed how much Leonard wanted to stay in San Antonio and served it's purpose.... I am sure Buss and her puppets will give you lots of scoops. I personally want to see an "eat-off" between Windhorst and Shelburne,
@YOLO that’s Miami unprotected 1st is a huge chip. That’s the year currently being projected as the “double draft” where there’s won’t be a 1&done rule anymore and you can draft straight out of high school. Not only that, you are underselling Covington if you think Dario is the best piece. Covington has become one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and is a very valuable 3&D guy. Philly absolutely has the package if they go for it and take the risk.
oh I didn't know that about the miami pick. And as far as covington, he is who he is as far as 3 and D player but I would put Saric as more valuable then him as far as actual play
They haven't ruled anybody out cause they are just listening. They probable still hope to retain him like they did LMA.
What is Dallas doing? That doesn't make them contenders. They'll just be stuck in the middle. No playoffs or quick exits at the maximum and draft picks in the teens.
