    Shortly after winning the RNC nomination, Trump took many shots at Obama, including the national debt and the budget deficit.
    trump was mocking about
    • the $19 trillion natonal debt as of mid-2016, promising to bring it down by at least 2 trillion
    • the estimated $400 billion budget deficit, promising to bring it down to $200 Billion

    CBO's latest forecast notes that / calls for
    • national debt has been rising to > $21 trillion, http://www.usdebtclock.org/
      • attributable to the massive tax cut and loss of jobs due to the trade war
      • China continues to be the US largest creditor.
        • the more US treasuries China buys, the more leverage it has (against the US) in a trade war
    • budget deficit rising to ~~ $800 billion
      • attributable to the massive tax cut and loss of jobs due to the trade war

    A bit too soon. He and the gop congress might get there eventually by slashing of non-rich people programs.

    But you are right that trump and the gop don’t want to talk about the rich people tax cuts and it’s many negative to non-rich folks.

    Dude has to keep five threads a day on the first page. I was banned for arguing with Clutch a few years ago but the argument started when I complained about Basso making this his blog. Clutch really wasn't upset about the complaint though.

    also, i had my account suspended once for calling someone a moron. you call people assholes all the time and dont get your account suspended for it.

    I never believed that Trump would be fiscally responsible but the first requested budget was only a 440 billion dollar deficit which was more responsible than any budget request under Obama. We'll have to see what the actual numbers look like when they come in and see where they go from here but year 1 wasn't that bad.
