Nolan Ryan scoffs. Edit: Just checked prices for the game- Reid Ryan is a hell of a business generator with his marketing- theyre making a killing off these replica rings alone.
No s**t, it's like free money. A cheap ring that at most costs a dollar or 2 to buy. Turn it around and you get a person that spends 50 dollars, and a hyped stadium.
Haha, this is brilliant. Step 1: Win World Series Step 2: Spend $50,000 getting 45,000 cheap ass replica rings made Step 3: Watch your stadium sell out on a random Wednesday night with fans ready to eat, drink, and get lit Step 4: Do this over and over all season long Step 5: Profit profit profit
I will say, the ring is a lot nicer than I expected. Watching back-to-back-to-back homers in person was even nicer.
Uggh, Damn it I waited 47 years, we finally get a WS Chip and I'm stuck in AZ with no chance to get one of these cheap replicas without paying $50 on Ebay. oh well, Maybe I can make my own out of tinfoil but getting that H Town skyline on it may be a b**** Edit: Ohhh, actually Amazon has some pretty good looking ones....in boxes
I found two seats in FB107 for $88 each. I jumped on them just because I was planning on going anyway. But still pricey for a A's Wednesday night game. I hope the rings are as nice as everyone says they are.
You would be paying far more to end up going to a random Wednesday game vs Oakland. If all you want is a replica ring, get a replica ring.
I still have the '05 NL Champs ring and I got my hands on the WS ring at the second giveaway. The WS rings are way nicer and I'm glad I jumped at the chance to get 'em. But then again I didn't have to pay highly inflated ticket prices either!
I went to last Wednesday’s game on my birthday and if you think the ring they are giving away is a pathetic, cheap looking knockoff, you clearly haven’t gotten one. While obviously not the real thing, the replica rings are heavy and feel like real jewelry. It’s a very cool promotion, honestly.
The replica ring the Astros are giving away is very nice. It was much heavier and detailed than I expected, and looks and feels like real jewelry. It is not some lightweight piece of junk.
I was pretty surprised at how nice the ring was. It's a beautiful thing in person. Like @DVauthrin said, it has the weight, details, and everything. Probably won't fit most people though, it's pretty big.
Got lucky and scored some tickets in 104 without paying the inflated price. Giving these to my son for his 18th birthday. He is at camp without his phone so he has no idea it is ring night. Not telling him and going to let it be a surprise. He asked for tickets to night 2 when they came out but the tickets sold out before I could get them.
I followed the link he provided and ordered an Altuve ring with box. With shipping it came out to about $20.
This is the one I bought: https://www.foxrings.com/products/h...pionship-ring-pre-order?variant=7435249844271
