Inspired by the dipping sauce thread. What’s your fav type of fried potato? If other please specify since I couldn’t include any more choices in poll. Ex) Wedges, Cajun, Cottage, Poutine, Pommes, Truffle, Garlic, Rosemary etc.

Hard to pick just 1 I know... I think I’m going shoestring.

    Crispy curly fries.

Something crispy, but not thin like shoestrings.

As long as they're cooked properly, and not dipped in mayo, they're all good. Never been a huge tater tot fan though, guess it goes back to eating terrible ones in school cafeterias back in the day.

For some reason, the thread title reminded me of this Layer Cake scene

we have a popular local restaurant that does up tater tots as "tatchos" . . . basically tater tots with nacho toppings, cheese, meat, beans, jalapenos, scallions, etc etc. Probably the most popular item on their entire menu.

Yep, those look legit. Tots are just one of those things I never think about ordering. There's a place here that does basically thick cut potato chips (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), smothered with green chili queso, pico, and fajita beef. It's ridiculously good. I think Kennealy's in Houston used to do Irish nachos similarly, but with corned beef.

Nothing beats those space-concocted fries that McDonalds makes.

Not to be that guy, but I feel like it's wrong to have "regular fries" and "regular fries + toppings" in the same poll.

That's like having "pepperoni pizza" and "meatlover's pizza" on the same "Which pizza is best?" poll.

I love meat but I hate meatlover’s pizza. Weird huh? I’m that guy.

You can put chili and cheese on any fries and they’d be better than any fries without chili and cheese. Not really fair.

For just a fry though I’ll go curly. I hate thick fries.

I'm just saying, it's a strange concept to me if you like pepperoni pizza, yet dislike multiple types of meat on your pizza (in addition to pepperoni).

Just like chili + cheese on fries. Unless you're lactose intolerant / vegetarian or vegan.

Steak fries. Something about them being kind of crispy, but still soft.

The real question is probably which fast food fries are the best.

Steak Fries are the "healthiest" since there's more potato vs surface area for grease.

The wedges at Chester's Chicken are extra large, but they're breaded, then fried... very unhealthy, but taste great.
