I'm sorry, call me crazy, but I can't hate Dwight. Dwight played his guts out for us. Apparently he has an annoying personality, but I don't think it's malicious, just seems he's not a guy people like. I blame him for not wanting to change, but also understand where he was coming from. The year before we went to the WCF and he was a big part of that. He busted everything out there every night. Then the next year it's suddenly "oh by the way, you aren't going to touch the ball anymore." It's not the WRONG decision, but I can see why he didn't understand it. No regrets about moving on from him, but I'll never hate on him. He CHOSE Houston that year. He wanted to come play here. That was a trend breaker.
bc you said only. so apparently, he's the only rocket thats led the team to wins in the playoffs. no of course not, thats stupid to think so
@malakas is fixing to hunt you down. Better stop posting, and hit the road. She's comin' for you, bro.
That year we went 41-41 and flamed out in the first round was ALL on Dwight. Because he was unhappy that he wasn't able to be the co-first-option of a modern NBA offense, he pouted. Got McHale fired (okay, that was positive) and flushed our hopes for a great season down the drain. You can say that it was Morey's fault for leading him on and making him think he'd be a bigger part of the offense, but Murray wasn't the one who refused to be the pick and roll threat we needed. Because Dwert wanted to play a brand of dump-it-to-the-big-guy-in-the-paint offense that almost nobody plays these days, he torpedoed the whole thing and ruined an entire freakin' season. I gave Dwight the benefit of the doubt once, but never again. Like DD says, he's a cancer. There's a REASON the Lakers/Rockets/Hawks/Hornets/Nets didn't bother to keep him. If the Rockets bring Dwight back, even on a vet minimum contract, then we should fire everyone involved in that decision. And yes, I'm serious.
I agree with basically everything you said here, i just don't buy the "you won't touch the ball anymore"...didn't Dwight lied about this? Pretty sure Terry kinda debunked this days after his interview with ESPN. I really don't see Morey saying him straight up "you won't get the ball anymore", i fail to understand why a gm should tell this to his second most important player.
I don’t want him going to GS. We have enough problems trying to contain their big four. I don’t want him dropping 20-20 stat-lines in playoff games. This isn’t Melo we’re talking about here. Dwight can still play.
if hes dropping that he'd be taking away from the likes of curry, klay, and kd. any team would glady take that
this is hilarious. if your memory is that bad, i can recall a playoff run in 2018 where a few guys stepped up all the way to the wcf. gtfoh with your bs
This is very naive thinking. Putting an elite rebounder (for free, no less) next to four All-Stars on one of the best assembled teams in NBA history is far from ideal. At least from our perspective. Sure, there's chemistry component and I get that, but it's not like the Warriors NEED him. If he acts up or does typical Dwight headcase things, they'll simply bench or waive him. Best case scenario is he buys into the winning philosophy and terrorizes GS's opponents on the glass. Worst case scenario is he gets tossed back into the dumpster for his 11th team in 4 years.
no its not naive thinking. who do you need to slow down 3 of the best scorers in the league or do you need to slow down DH. its an obvious choice
