Not for me, but for my girlfriend. After a wonderful trip to California, we arrive back in Austin around 10:30 last night. Her Dad phones her about 11:15 and immediately we knew something was up since they're normally in bed by 10:00 or so. We figured it was something with her Mom, who, a few years ago, was given days to live due to cancer, but miraculously beat it back into remission. Fortunately it wasn't her Mom, but unfortunately, it was her best friend. Apparently, yesterday morning, he was driving to see his Mom in Ruidoso, NM (he lived in Albuquerque). About 30 minutes out of town, he started choking while eating a hamburger (which apparently, he never eats). He pulled the car over to the side of the road and choked to death. Thank God he was able to do that and spare anyone else on the road. She's been a wreck ever since then. The closest person I've ever lost was my unborn nephew a few months ago. I don't know how I could handle losing my best friend or anyone else that close to me. Please keep her and Josh's family in your thoughts and prayers. RIP Josh, I wish I could've known you.
Hey, having met RM95's girl now (she's top shelf), please tell her I hope all involved find some comfort with one another. That's bad, bad news.
Sorry to hear that. It's stories like that that makes me realize I think too many of us take the short time we have on this planet for granted.
That's horrible. Sorry to hear it. It's stories like this that make you appreciate life. It could all end in a second.
I took that drive to see friends over Thanksgiving. Next time I drive it, I will appreciate it more. May peace and comfort surround those who knew him best.
Not sure what to say other than my thoughts & prayers are with her & the family...she's lucky to have a guy like you to help her through this. +
