Ive been following his stats closely this year. He is on pace to finish in the top 10 in both steals and blocks. Only two other players have accomplished this feat in the past 20 years: Hakeem (twice) and David Robinson. Both won the DPOY the year they did it.

Amazingly, AK47 is only .7 steals behind Iverson for the league lead in steals and only .4 blocks behind Wallace for the league lead in blocks. If, and its a huge IF, he were to finish #1 in steals and blocks, how can he not be voted the top defensive player in the league???

Ultimately, as it stands now, its hard to not vote for Wallace, seeing as how he averages 5 more boards than Andrei. I think if AK47 averaged closer to 10 boards, then its a much closer call.

To throw something else at yall, if you starting a team, and you could only choose between the two, would you start with Wallace or AK47????

a throw a vote his way, does it all on defense

the steals and blocks are nice but he can also lock down on his player when needed and is great floor marshall for the Jazz team defense

Yes he should. I love AK47 and would vote for him if he keeps up or improves on those stats. He should make the All Star team in my opinion.

The question is, does AK 47 beat out Garnett and Duncan as a forward on the all defensive team?

If there's such a title as "Help Defensive Player of the Year", he's got that one locked up, and he should be strongly considered for the real deal as well.

Of course, he is Frankenstein, so I don't know if being a re-animated corpse helps or hurts his chances...

AK is 7-8 years younger than BW and is 3x the offensive player that Ben is.

Damn, Sam, I'm going to go to jail if I act on the thoughts that are going through my head about that jailbait!

AK deserves some votes, but honestly, I think either Artest or Wallace will win the award. He'll probably win it in 2 years or so though, at the rate he's been improving.
