I'm conflicted. What are you supposed to do when a man you absolutely despise reps and supports a team you absolutely love?
Honestly, this is all great. We need more of this between people w different beliefs. More dems and pubs having dinner, etc.
It was in good fun, but I felt like Kimmel took it a little too far with the political trash talk. Cruz did well to keep his composure.
Felt the same way. A few lighthearted jabs would have been fine but the lecturing just reminded the audience what they hate about liberals. LOL. Just: "ooo! That's right, Ted! Blocked like an asylum seeker!" Then back to hooping.
Yeah, it was strange. I found myself actually pulling for Cruz. Dare I say I have an entirely different opinion of him as a person after watching this. Incredibly good sport for going through with this (and not a bad jumpshot). Agree with @B-Bob, we need more of this kind of thing.
Agreed. Politically I tend to agree with Kimmel way way way more the Ted Cruz. But Kimmel was acting so much like an A**ho13 that I wanted Cruz to win. Cruz came out looking like the nice guy in this.
I’ve posted on here a few times about how I met Cruz at a fundraiser in 2010 when I was in college. He was actually a super cool guy in person and I ended up volunteering on his first senate campaign. Then he turned into some douche on tv and I forgot why I liked him.
Put Ted Cruz vs a Democrat in Thunderdome and then I'll watch. And then keep going until we're down to 1 of these people. Then we as a group determine what to do with him/her.
