I never disagreed with the reasoning of why the trade was veto'ed given the situation the Hornets were in at the time. My issue was more that the owners/Stern told the Hornets front office that they had autonomy in their roster moves and then took that back and veto'ed the trade. They should have been more transparent from the beginning saying any transactions would have to be approved by Stern/NBA owners until the franchise was purchased by a new owner.

Agree...was editing in reasons not to include. I do give the commish credit for making new CBA negotiations go so smoothly, though.

Also, see my last point I added. You might want to include that

Pretty sure he directly had a hand in choosing Scott Foster to screw us over in game 7 of the WCF. So as far as his tenure is concerned, I give him an "F" for stopping a championship this year.

I think Silver has mostly done a pretty good job. That he didn't solve some of the league's ugliest problems like officiating in a couple of years is more a commentary on how difficult it is with years of Stern's influence already impressed upon the referees - I'll say this, Silver listened to the criticism and at least attempted to answer that criticism in some way. I think we can all agree that he didn't lift enough of the covers back and the point system doesn't appear to work but it was still waaaayyyyy more than what we got for decades under arrogant David Stern. I suspect he will continue to take criticism for the reffing and will continue to propose changes to tweak the system. It's not going to happen overnight so don't expect a silver bullet so to speak(no pun intended).

The Warriors/Durant thing was not of Silver's doing - he is just one cog in a machine that included the owners and players who allowed that to happen. I also think ultimately the changes to make the league more profitable are low hanging fruit - the league, its owners, and its players will all profit from it so I don't see much of a downside in an awards ceremony for players, sponsorship of team jerseys, etc. Changing the way all stars is selected was I think an important change since it directly effects how max a max contract can be for a veteran - the fan vote is fine, but you need some people with a little more accountability(btw, they now release the names of who voted for whom) to determine whether a player is deserving or not. Otherwise you guys assholes on 4chan trying to game the system to get Zaza into the all star game.

Overall Silver has done a great job supporting the players and teams.

Why did Stern allow they low ratings Spurs to dominate for 20 years? Why didn’t he rig the 97 draft so Duncan goes to the Celtics? Why were the Knicks so irrelevant under Stern?

Adam Silver was hand picked by David Stern to carry on Corruption, Rigging Games, example Milwaukee Ray Allen vs 76ers Allen Iverson. Sac-LAL series . GSW-Hou. Adam Silver is Corrupt Mafia Illuminati a Puppet. Selecting Scott Foster to screw Chris Paul while injured sitting on the bench that is a form of torture for sure, Chris Paul brother and Scott Foster had history when Oaul brother played College Ball and Scott Foster was in College referee tossing him out of games, personal, grudge game is never to be allowed in Sports at all, Foster was screwing over Chris Paul during season and Playoffs, Jazz Chris Paul brother got escorted out because of Scott Foster at Utah. Game 7 Scott Foster again to screw team at home with no calls. I really lost huge respect for the NBA.

If you are seriously complaining about Adam Silver, then you will never be happy until Clutch or Hakeem gets named as commissioner.

Most of his changes have been profitable but minor. He is doing one thing now, though, that has the potential to ruin the league. That thing is the promotion of betting on NBA games. The more he does this, the more pressure there is going to be on the refs to get calls right, a task which is impossible. The NBA has so much contact that a foul could be legally called on either team on every play of every game. The more that betting happens, the more apparent it is going to become that NBA games are managed rather than umpired.

I like how progressive he keeps the league. If he doesn’t get the officials under control he’ll undo all of his hard work ala NFL.

I think next year I’ll take a step back from being as invested as I was this year. There were way too many eyebrow raising moments with officials to wholly invest your emotions in. The World Cup has had FAR better officiating than the NBA playoffs did.

There was definitely a ton going on behind the scenes that wasn't shared with the public until the decision had already been made.

I was just as outraged as anyone else, but it looks like it was a smart move on Stern's part to begin with... perhaps something Silver should have considered after KD gave his initial interest to GSW's FO a couple summers ago.

he's a w**** to the same degree as stern. stern milked the fakers, silver's been riding the worriers. at the end of the day competition and integrity take a backseat -- it's all about bucks.

The officiating is as bad as it's ever been, and he completely ruined the league competitively with his acceptance of the cap spike.

The only reason any fan outside the Bay Area might like Silver is the Sterling fiasco. Silver is a moneygrubber who only cares about cash and has zero residual integrity. In other words, he's perfect for the owners.

He’s not supposed to tell unrestricted free agents where they can or can’t go.

He should not have allowed the spike. That should have been a non-starter for obvious reasons.

I felt sort of neutral about Silver. Some of his actions I liked, some I didn't, but I wasn't worked up about the guy. Then the playoffs came along and I saw the refs we got. There is no excuse for what the league did, in my opinion. It's not like the league is bereft of veteran refs that could have been used instead of the cretins we were raped by. I won't soon forget having to watch that series play out.

    Silver has been tarnished.
