I like how he says he prefers to go to LA as if he has a no trade clause

Man, if KLove thought he was depressed in Cleveland, wait till he gets a whiff of lovely Salt Lake City.

    Those are just fanboy arguments...

Dan Gilbert isn't paying luxury tax again (and at some point repeater) for the pleasure of having Ryan Anderson and a 29th pick in the draft, lol.

Even though he's expiring, it's not like he can go to the place he wants to go if he opts out. He'd effectively just be costing himself a lot of money by opting out and STILL couldn't go to LA.....at least not the Lakers.

For that reason, I think there's plenty of teams in the East that would take the chance.

He has already cost himself I don't know how many millions. 30? Since he can't get the supermax.

The way I take it is as kawhi implying he'll resign there when he says "prefer"

The difference is that LeBron is about to be a free agent the Cavs will lose for nothing and Kawhi has another year under team control.

Sure but that's not a reason to cost himself even more money PLUS it still doesn't put him on the Lakers. So if you are an Eastern conference team trading for him, there's plenty of reason to believe that he might stick around if you put a team around him.

    I disagree.

Like Ingram... he's not just ahead of where Kawhi was at the same age, he's LIGHT YEARS ahead. For one, Ingram has 2 years in the NBA whereas Kawhi only had 1. If we compare same age seasons its laughable. Even if we compare year 2 seasons, Ingram's got him beat in a TON of areas... not defensively, but guess which team was 3rd in DRtg last year without Kawhi, lol...

Ingram might not have MVP potential, which Kawhi grew into [though you never know, he might in 5-8 years], but he's definitely got really good starter on a really good team potential.

Then, of course, you have the folks that like Kyle Kuzma more.

Neither of these guys should be your #1 or #2 guy on a championship contender, RIGHT NOW. But put either of these guys in Boston in place of Tatum this year and the success of each team doesn't change much. Lakers, with Tatum, still finish 37-45, and Celtics are still a top 2 team in the East.

Would Tatum be a great "get".... OF COURSE.

Actually think this Kawhi news to LA is great for us. Puts more pressure on the Cavs having LeBron leave them for nothing if they don't trade him.

Fair enough, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I think those guys are bench players on a contender.

Yah its actually the opposite. Its terrible news for us. Lebron has his choice. Cleveland has no ruling in the matter. Its LA for the new big 3 unfortunately.

Yup, same way Kyrie & Paul George did. Both ending up on teams they wanted to be on. Oh wait, they didn't?!
