Still, wish they could consistently score at least 90 points a game. A win is a win, but still a lot to work on.

Also, anyone notice how when Mo was on they went to him play after play. While some of this is Yao's fault, you never see this happening with him. On the occasions he is shooting well, they consistently still try to keep running pick-n-rolls, set plays, etc.

In fact, the 19 shot attempts by Taylor tonight matches Yao's career high and tops his max of this season by one (Yao attempted 18 shots 3 times). Note on the contrary Steve already has a game where he attempted 27 shots this season (career high is 29) and Mobley 21 this season (career high of 30 in one game).

I guess Yao just doesn't demand the ball enough???

We could always assemble a "gritty, try-hard, all-star" team. It's been done. In a pathetically weak Eastern conference, such a team even almost made the playoffs.

Of course, they didn't, ultimately... and in the West, they'd probably lose 70 games... but they'd trie hard, damnit!

It’s because Yao can’t get into position to shoot like Taylor can. If Yao were to take 19 shots, I’d say 15 of them would be fadeaways from 18 feet with a hand in his face. If those are the best shots Yao can get, then I would much rather prefer Taylor shooting 19 times then him.

you are correct. in order for yao to be more of a factor in the offense, he needs to get better position deep in the paint. anyone see his legs????? i am sure if he where to do that he would be a 25+ points per game easy. even shaq could not stop him when he was that deep in the paint.
