If phx, dallas, lakers really want to pay Clint that much money then ok... bye.... if Clint wants to win a ring then he stays here... hell if he really wants to take his chances in phoenix... well ok good luck winning in Phoenix... he is not who we are building our team around.. paul, harden , tucker, ariza are the only ones that we really need to focus on... ego ryno luc nene black joe johnson all are expendable. If chris paul really didn't need to expend all that energy because there were other options he might have not pulled that hamstring. Hell if lebron comes here he'd definitely be playing Center to go against durant with tucker on green ariza on igudala... this not the early 2000's and not the 90's.
He was even worst then his Memphis in his brief stint here. Only things he did remotely well was block shots
He would be an ideal "get", considering how badly we need a solid backup 1/2 (I like EGO a lot, but...) Still, Llull has given no indication of interest. He's 30. Plenty in the tank, I'm sure. But it's best just to pretend he'll never be here.
Not only that, but we have no money to pay him an amount that would entice him. At this point (and I know @BimaThug will faint) I think the best use of his rights is as a trade sweetner, however little sweetness it may provide. I really like Llull but I just don't see a viable way now that we'll ever be able to bring him over where the circumstances meet up.
Maybe the MLE (is that $8,000,000-ish right now?) could do the trick. Still, he hasn't indicated a desire to jump ship to the NBA. Yes, trade sweetener, even if he'd just be a pinch of aspartame, unless there was an understanding he wanted to play for that new team.
I knew I'd derail the thread on the topic of a player who may never show up, but since it was cyberx himself who asked, this was from Llull's wiki page: "In May 2018, Real Madrid won the 2017–18 EuroLeague, after defeating Fenerbahçe Doğuş in the final game 85–80.[12] Llull missed most of the season due to injury, only to come back into the rotation at the Final Four, helping his team to grab their second EuroLeague title in four seasons." So looks like he's back out there.
