i think people who just say ps2 is better just becasue of the games are just jumping on the bandwagon! I mean the only games i hear about on ps2 are gta3/4 and mgs2, both on the xbox now with improved graphics. Plus xbox has great games that ps2 doesnt, like halo1 and soon 2, pgr2, r6-raven sheild, and much more. Plus xbox has xbox live which beats ps2 and GC combined in online play!
I gotta go with XBOX. Playing Matrix in 1080i hi-def is awesome. Halo rules. GTA3/ViceCity 2-pack rocks. I like having one and only one online account. All online games are played with the same account. More power, better graphics. 5.1 surround. Less games than PSX only means less filler/crap. Hard Drive with tons of memory. No memory cards to deal with. Like Microsoft, Sony also wants to take over the world. Do you want and American company to take over the wold or a Japanese company to take over the world? So in short, not only will you have a more powerful gaming system by going with XBOX, you will also be patriotic in doing so.
Funny thing about that is MS was harping on that big time when the system first arrived, going as far as codenaming it 'Project Midway' while in production. Then the system came out, lacked games, and suffered badly in Japan. They've restructured the Japanese division a couple times. The XBOX sells less than the Gameboy Color over there, I think. MS freaked out. Then they started to realize that - little problem - the Japanese also make good games. So they started to reach out to Japanese developers to try and get them to put more on the XBOX. The new head of the Japanese division is now Japanese. And, of course, MS is harping on one game other than Halo 2 above all else to help them push the system this year. That game? Ninja Gaiden.
Man I cannot WAIT for Fable. I hope it lives up to the hype. Still gotta wait until June (at least) though. Until then though it's still time to wait for Ninja Gaiden and Halo 2, assuming it doesn't get pushed back AGAIN.
I think he was referring to MS banking on Ninja Gaiden to stimulate interest in Japan; Games that are super popular in the US like D&D style RPG's (fable), GTA, and FPS games don't do as well in Japan for whatever reason; and conversely, games that don't sell jack in the US (Steel Battallion-- a mech game where you had to buy a 200$ control panel just to play) sell out in Japan. Ninja Gaiden should do well in both markets though.
C'mon, Nomar! Mr. Fisher understood. Although I doubt Fable will touch Halo2 and Ninja Gaiden numbers.
