I gave up and watched Last Flag Flying with Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and Laurence Fishbourne. It was also a somewhat pointless movie. Not a crazy plot. Nothing too earth-shattering. But the difference in acting off the get go was just so immediate to me. I don't dislike Franco. I just don't get the praise for this acting job. He played an idiot with a funny way of talking and being... doesn't seem that hard. Might as well nominate Robert Downey Jr. for Tropic Thunder or the like. In Last Flag Flying Carell and Fishbourne were their typical characters, very well done, but nothing shattering. Cranston was his typical fantastic acting.
