In the 3 prior years he was much better at home, and his career splits are pretty close. MMP hasn't been a hitters park in 17 years.
Anyone else think it has to do with the size of the ballpark and the tightness of the outfield at Minute Maid Park? With his homers being down this season, all of his extra-base hits have been coming inside the park. But of his 15 doubles, 12 of them have come on the road as well as both of his triples. But of his four homers, they're split 2-2 between home and the road. MMP is great if you have power to consistently crank it into the Crawford Boxes, but for a guy like Altuve, he's probably always going to hit better in stadiums with more spacious outfields where singles are more likely to be doubles and line drives and fly balls are more likely to drop.
Lima Time was so much fun for us fans; though I get it now why it was offensive to opposing players. Baseball and the unwritten rules that are there for a reason. He was fuled by emotion and he had his special year when he won 21 games and made an all-star. But geesh he died so young at 37 years old. Such a charismatic personality.
