If the Warriors win, there's a sliver of a chance that LeBron considers us in free agency. It also establishes that the Warriors are too damn good and need to be stopped at all costs by the rest of the league. Even if it means another team, like Houston, getting their own super team. If the Cavs win, then the Warriors lose and their team and their fans feel the sting of a loss that the Rockets are feeling right now. It also just makes the story of this season a bit more interesting, as an NBA fan.
Durant signs with a 72 win team, no problem. We try to trade with the Lakers - "Basketball Reasons". I have a sneaking suspicion that might happen again if we strike a deal with a big enough star this off-season.
I dont hate GSW like many others do. Kerr is a b**** and Draymond is a thug, but outside of that, its hard to hate on them outside of having a great team. They built their team from scratch like Houston. Durant went full on beta by piling on, but a teams going to sign the best players. We would sign LeBron given the opportunity. Im not going to knock LeBron like I usually do. He did well with what little he had. He deserves MVP honestly, hands down. However Cleveland has no business in the finals. This is a clear indicator we simply need to dissolve the WC/EC playoff format.
**** the Warriors, always want them to lose. But they will steamroll the Cavs, it won't be close. Hopefully LeBron realizes his best chance at another ring is in Houston.
Depends on what you want this offseason. If Cleveland wins Lebron probably doesn’t leave, just rebuilds. If GS wins then you’ll see a lot of stars and really good vets take deals and move teams to try to compete. As close as we were, guys will be willing to take less money for a chance at a ring ala PJ Tucker.
Even if Lebron wins he is leaving. He has more points than the next three cavs combined. Its just not a sustainable model.
I'm not even sure if I will check the scores after the games, let alone watching them. That's how much I care about who is going to win this year. And yeah, I don't even care if LeBron wants to join the Rockets.
I hope LeBron crushes them so badly and so historically that I’m made to feel like he would have done the same to us. That will make things a little better. Also I want every single player on the warriors to tear their hamstrings (relax, only grade 2)... they’ll live.
I think LeBron could come anyway crazily enough. Surprisingly, I think Lebron's a good dude, I think he comes just to get CP3 a title. I think that's how he sees it. "Let me play with my bro CP3 and help him out a little." And Lebron staying in Cleveland even after a win doesn't change the fact that his GM is trash and that 6ers and Celtics can only get better because they are insanely young teams. Beating the Warriors now means that for him, joining the Rockets would suddenly prove to be the easier path to the finals..and he gets to leave Cleveland in good spirits. I don't think Lebron has any interest in wasting a single year of his career. I'd be surprised if he became sentimental and just wanted to finish off his career in Cleveland (much respect if that what he chooses) but I could only see him staying if Cleveland swings a trade or makes a move for another bonafide star player.
Why is Lebron viewed as a Good Samaritan across the league all of a sudden? Handing out ships to his closest friends? I dun think he wanted to just help Dwyane to win a championship because Wade has already won one before Lebron did. He just wanted one badly. Selfish motive. I am not buying any of that, Lebron only joins a team that needed him the most...... lmao.
Warriors losing would be hilarious. But Warriors in 4-5 is probably best for Rockets offseason. We'd look like the only hope to compete. Leaves door open for adding another star. Warriors are now 28-6 in playoffs with KD. Three of those losses from the Rockets. Only team to take them past 5 games.
The real finals was already over last night, between the real contenders. What's left is just a series of symbolic games.
Kind of a difference between a free agent signing where he wants versus a trade involving a league owned team at the time
I want neither team to win. I want the most horrible finals series ever. Lots of bricks, six games see-sawing back and forth, each 85 to 70 for the road team. In game 7, I want more bricks, more than ever, and I want it tied at the end of regulation 66 to 66. After 7 scoreless overtimes, Lebron and all the Worriers are too tired or have too many fouls to even take the court. The title is decided by a game of 3 on 2 scrubs. That's the only version I would like, TBH.
I don't really like the Warriors, they are an all time great team in the way the Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls are. But, them winning will be more insufferable than LBJ winning another title. Warriors in 5 or 6 games. I think Lebron will have to explosive performance where he carries to the Cavs to 2 victories, but the Warriors close themout pretty quickly in game 6. Even if the Cavs do win, by some colossal effort. I still think James could possibly leave the Cavs.
