Read the comments below the post. Nobody wanted this matchup. I was actually really surprised and relieved to see true basketball fans speak up.
I'm "predicting" that Reggie and CWebb get "reassigned" next year and won't be calling games. They're former players and were really calling it like they saw it loudly and then suddenly almost as if a call came into their headset to quiet down they turned down the volume. Bet you me that Silver will be on the phone with TNT reminding them to get their boys under control.
Yep, that's how casual fans see it. Just more Lebron or Warrior bashing. They love this stuff. they'd take it every year, and most of them are Cavs or Warriors fans anyway.
I'm glad I don't feel this heartbreak when watching the Texans, we r too mediocre to get shafted by the refs in playoffs. Not watching the stupid finals no point. Either the nba finally get competent refs and warriors blow the Cavs out or lebron gonna go super nova with assistance from the refs just to have a game 6-7.
Casual fans don't buy season tickets, league pass, or sh-t tons of merchandise. The real problem is not the ratings of the Finals. I'm sure they'll be fine. But what about ratings next season of games featuring the 26 teams that have no shot at winning the title? What about season ticket sales for the teams who decided to rebuild or tread water because they know there's no point in spending money on a roster that has no shot of beating the Warriors? What about diehard fans who perceive the league as rigged to favor a handful of teams(and in particular, one organization)?
I don't even watch hockey but i'm gonna watch the stanley cup finals over the nba finals. screw the nba ratings. i hope they tank
Ppl clearly do want this matchup or at least don't really care because the ratings are going to be great.
I'm a big hockey fan, and here's the irony. One team hasn't been in the finals since.... 95? Can't remember, got swept against the Red Wings. The other team is a first year expansion team riding a feel good story. NBA? The opposite of those things. The NBA is literally a feel bad story.
i'm rooting for Ovi. some similarities with him and cp3 in terms of postseason success. dc sports have had a lot of heartbreaks over the years so as a houston fan, i can relate. definitely a cool storyline this year with the golden knights though.
Also rooting for Ovi over the Knights. I empathize more with fans who have waiting a LONG time for some positivity.
That photo just looks disgusting. Will be gladly not watching these Finals. Now have more free time during the next 4 or 5 evenings
