please God yes. i can't stand Mad tv. the writing is horrendous.... all junior high comedy. i just tried watching a skit and felt myself getting stupider. no wonder i liked it in 7th grade. it's simply unintelligent comedy.
the first few years of MadTv was pretty good, esp the claymation stuff and Sasso's early work. But the last few years of it has sucked hard.
wow this thread took a 180 yeah it always seemed like mad tv got the people SNL didnt want or something. and all the recurring characters got on my nerves. i still cant believe SNL would hire kenin from All That. that show sucked even when i was the target demographic

My favorite Mad TV skits were from earlier in the show -- My White Mama That skit where the drunk guy ran for President and won "The Greatest Chistmas Story Ever Told" where the Terminator comes back in time to protect Jesus "Lord of the Bling" Damn, I should look for some of these on the net . . .
I like some of Mad TV but almost every single re-occurring character they've had just annoys the hell out of me. I they use them so often that I really can't stand to watch the show anymore. I probably watched all of two minutes of the marathon on comedy central.
shame to spend such a beautiful day indoors, but i've been watching mad tv on com cen today and... i agree sonny. debra wilson has got to be the funniest person on the show. after watching mad tv today, her impersonation of whitney in "whitney screws up the classics" is by far one of the best skits ever on the show. would have been better if bobby wasn't included on the end. trying to find it now. all together the show is a disaster, but the facial expressions and the bad acting are soooo stoopid that it enjoyable. snl doesn't compare. btw, sorry to bring up an old thread. just was bored, saw the show today, and remembered a thread about it.
