They've already stated in multiple reports that it was a right hamstring I thought??

I think this is based on the telecast showing Paul getting some kind of treatment from Keith Jones on the lower backside of his leg a few games ago. It's possible that could have been achilles tendonitis that was flaring up, or an issue with his soleus muscle. I have had the latter before, and while it sucks, it can be played through if it's not major.

In short, achilles injury does not mean torn achilles. If he had that, he'd be at home with his foot in a boot and contemplating retirement.

Last night's injury was pretty clearly a hamstring strain / pull / tear.

He was massing out his thigh after he fell. Doesn't make sense for it to be an achilles injury.

Bah. Someone close the thread. People aren't really reading what point I'm looking for here.

He immediately reached for his hamstring. Not his achilles.

Was his achilles sore? Possibly? I like Nick Wright, but from watching that last night I'm honestly now sure how someone could think that was an achilles injury

Would be the saddest thing ever if Chris couldn't finish this out.

I watched the injury again and Cook clearly hit CP's thigh with the knee. I am hoping it's just a contusion.

Fair enough. But you can have Achilles tendinitis and still be functional, as long as it's mild. I assume that's what was going on with game 2.

It's the wrong part of the leg that he's holding.... it's a classic hammy pull. We just have to hope it recovers quickly.

    Definitely a serious hamstring pull.

Yup, right under the butt cheek, or right above the knee are the 2 most common spots since that's where the hamstring connects. Hopefully it's mild enough to where a few days off will get it feeling right enough to play Game 7.

We've known about the existing achilles soreness. Nothing new.

.@CP3 will miss Saturday’s game at Golden State with a right hamstring strain.

He will be re-evaluated after the team returns to Houston.

No he didn't. He shot his two free throws and did not play another game.
