2 days vs 4 days is one thing, but could it also be that CP3 can only gut out another 40 min of HOF ball before he has to be shelved for a week or so (a la 2015 Clippers Spurs Game 7)? If that's the case, would you rather go all in at Oracle (knowing that he probably won't be available for a potential G7), or save it for G7 at home if we can't (and it's obviously a long shot) shoot the Dubs and their bandwagon fans out of NorCal in G6?
Hate that he's injured. If he wasn't playing that well 85% healthy imagine now. Need 40+ points from Harden and EG shooting really efficient from 3.
The Rockets managed to go 15-6 this season in games Paul missed when they had probable MVP guard James Harden and blossoming star center Clint Capela available. Houston has outscored the Warriors by 11 points in 47 minutes during the West finals with Harden on the floor and Paul resting.
use your head, there is no contradiction inthere... this is the kind of a cliche thing coaches and players say all the time
We could survive Paul at least one game if only our rotation isn't a fking 5.5 now. Harden has proven that he can win off one game off the warriors before without a star sidekick, but he at least had a team. 5.5 player rotation needs to get bigger.
The luck of this team my goodness - one win away and the person who we need to win it all goes down? Where is the good fortune we’ve been dying to go our way the last decade? Unbelievable Hoping for a miracle - for this special run and opportunity
We are now in a must win for game 6. If chris paul can muster the strength to help us win this next game then we can give our boys some rest before the finals. Saturday is a must win!
I'm sure he'll play, but Curry will attack that hamstring relentlessly if he does. Maybe if we start EG and limit Paul to 20 minutes off the bench as a spot up shooter and average defender, that might be enough to get us over the hump. His presence is important and some level of irrational courage could amp up the team. But we got to get points from somewhere. We are barely scoring enough to make our defense worth it.
We need to concede game 6. We CANNOT run our guys to the ground at the Oracle, get a loss, then come back to Houston. Of the likely scenarios, that is by far the worst. Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war.
Even before CPs injury I was hoping Rockets don’t even send Capela, Harden, CP, Ariza, Tucker, Gordon to the game. Leave them in Houston. Chances of winning game 6 on road or three in a row against golden stage is slim to none
That would be a lineup of Joe Johnson Gerald Green Luc Mbah Ryno Nene Joe Chee/Black/Aaron Jackson/Onuaku
