We held them to 12 pts in the 4th Q. Them! Amazing. What is it they say about defense?

Great game by EG. His shooting is obscured by his constant attacking the rim. I think we had them in the penalty every quarter before the quarter ended, and got so many of their guys in foul trouble. If we're sitting outside all game, that doesnt happen.

I wish the whole bench shimmy'd in Curry's face after he bricked that tying attempt at the buzzer right in front of our bench

Defense is why they won this game. They forced Warriors to iso by switching on all off ball movement and being near flawless that entire 4th quarter switching on the movement and alllwokg no daylight.

According to Barkley and Smith it wasn't what Houston did but what the Warriors didn't do. Ha! Ok, right!

    Steve Kerr:

Thought we made great push in the 3rd but weren't able to make any subs. Normal sub pattern was skewed with Andre's absence. 4th Q, we ran out of gas. Tried to buy some rest. They outplayed us in the 4th & earned it.

    Final shot with KD scrambling?

Wanted one. Draymond was trying to call TO with 4 seconds left. I was hoping they'd give it to us. Always a proponent of pushing it off a miss. Thought we'd get a better shot in transition so I let them play.

    Rotating 5 spot?

Trying to get stops. Looney & Bell are our most mobile bigs along with Draymond. Went back & forth between the two to get stops but couldn't score at the other end.

Draymond & Kevin played minute highs. Fatigued in the 4th?

Just fatigued. You just said it. We scored 12 points. Didn't get great shots either. This game was trench warfare. Everyone grinding it out, a lot of isolation. I guess this is the modern NBA. Only way you can do this & win is have great one on one players, defenders, 2-way guys. It becomes a one on one battle with all the switching.

Could you have used Iguodala tonight?

Of course. Didn't play so it doesn't matter. It was 12-0, started turning it over & fouling. It was disappointing. We could have stretched the lead. We sent them to the line over & over. 10 turnovers in the 1st half. That allowed them to hang around.

    Steph fatigued?

I don't know. It's tough out there. They shot 39%. We shot 39%. Chris Paul hit some big ones in the 4th.

Steph, Kevin, Klay, Draymond playing entire 3rd.

Yeah, just buy two minutes each for them. Tried to make a sub with 2 minutes left, sent Shaun & Nick up there but there was no stoppage & didn't want to use a timeout.

    ...
    ...

    Klay update?

Think he's OK. He was fighting out there.

    Overall focus?

Haven't watched the film yet. I'm sure we'll look at the film & kick ourselves. This is a great team we're playing. They played a great game. Their D & physicality made a difference.

Did they ramp up their D & physicality?

They got better defensively. They fought & scrambled every play. I'm praising their D & effort. They're doing all the switching. Switching can be complicated. Gotta force them to make mistakes. We didn't do a good enough job to force them to make mistakes. That hurt us.

TNT crew says Warriors are playing too much iso ball.

    LMAO.

Rockets brought them down to our level. Pringles offense like herpes is contagious.

Shout out to Internet homie @DonKnock

Line up Deadspin doubter Lauren Theisen up and give her a proper bottom slap.

    The Rockets Are Short-Circuiting

One of the coldest, most ruthlessly efficient scorers in the NBA froze up on a wide-open three that Draymond Green was cool to let him have. P.J. Tucker eventually missed his own three to end the possession, but if you’re wondering how badly the Warriors own James Harden and the Rockets right now, here’s your answer: (video)

Meanwhile, Chris Paul is struggling against Kevon Looney’s defense, and Shaun Livingston is getting wide-open dunks off poor Harden finishes.

    (video)
The Rockets schadenfreude appears strong tonight.
