    Must have been Reggie's haircut.

Actually, the Pacers were down 14 or so, and then they suddenly got life. They all looked dejected, and like they were not in the flow of the game. When they pulled within 10, they really picked it up, were within 2 with 14 or so seconds left.

Rose dribbled the ball up the court, Miller did one of his famous baseline cuts out to the perimeter, and Iverson didn't get there in time....three pointer fell with about 3 sec. left.

On the ensuing play, Iverson got the ball, dribbled hard to try to get around Miller, slipped, and that was it. He picked the ball up, but time had expired.

    Ballgame.

But what about the pump fake jump into someone fouls. Are you saying if Iverson had slipped more so, so that he seriously flopped himself into Miller it should have then been a foul?

I have used that tactic all my life, a pump fake on the jumper, and then lean in to draw contact. It is a heady play for shooters. If you fall for a headfake, you deserve it! [IMG]

I can't really say what it would have taken to get a foul called on that play. I just think a no call on that particular play was the best option.

Miller was straight up, no hands on Iverson, he just slipped into him.

JAYZ750- I was at the game saturday so I saw it up close then i watched it when I got home. That was NOT a foul on miller that last and if you think it is then you dont know the rules. Miller waswas moving back and Iverson ran into Miller if anything its an offensive foul. Iverson also should have fouled out with 2 minutes left when he fouled Jalen Rose and no call was made. Mutombo also goaltended a shot by jalen Rose with 4o something seconds left remember.
Pacers won Fair and Square in fact they were the ones who didnt get the calls.

As already stated, I agree that it shouldnt have been a foul. My argument is for Reggie's continual use of the pump fake to jump into somebody and get a foul call. These days peopleoften expect it and dont even jump in the air anymore, yet Reggie continues to flail into them and get a foul called. I think the game was called pretty evenly and remember that the Mutombo goaltending was a make-up call or was made-up right after that play.

I just hate the jump into somebody to get a foul called move.

Im not one to make excuses and I dont really care anyway as this is not a Rockets game, but would someone explain to me what a foul is. Either you're allowed contact or your not. There was definitely contact on that last Iverson play. Im not saying I think it should be a foul. But I am saying that when Reggie Miller pump fakes someone directly up, then jumps into them that should not be a foul either. Iverson basically ran into Reggie on the last play of the game causiing him to fall. Isnt that the same as Reggie jumping into someone while shooting (and he gets this call every single time he does it, whether the defender leaves his feet or not). I believe Iverson got two fouls called on him this way (one where he jumped at a fake, but caught himself mid act and jumped away, thus causing Reggie to jump backwards into him while putting up a shot yet a foul was still called. I just think if the refs are going to be bad they should at least be consistent.

If Iverson goes cold, Philly is done. noone on the team can carry the load w/out AI. Dikembe is nice but can't run a team offensively.
AI has to play good for them to win.

I'm really not surprised that the Sixers lost\choked to the Pacers. The Pacers have underachieved this year, but they still have a lot of talent, and can be a handful if they are focused.

The East is going to come down to NY and Milwaukee. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Charlotte or Indiana make a run.

I think everyone is confused (referees especially) about what is and what is not "incidental" contact. What I saw is that Iverson slipped (his back foot) as he went hard to get around Reggie. Miller anticipated it well, and I think the no call in this instance was probably right.

You couldn't really call a foul on Reggie, as Iverson stumbled into him. By the same token, there wasn't enough contact to call an offensive foul, and usually a slip like that gets no call.....unless Shaq or Kobe slip and fall! [IMG]

yeah . . I think it is a BS call
kind of like Calling a Time out when
    you running out of bounds

Good thing it doesn't work in street ball
cause u don't get free throws and people don't
foul out . . .only thing u get is a reset

So no one really does it because their isn't
    a shot clock anyway
