"Turbo Lover" Judas Priest "Two of Hearts" Stacy Q Last night in my hotel after the Music Pity Bowl I watched Little Nicky. I saw probably the most horrifying image I've ever seen (Clint Howard in drag) and he was pinching his nipples to that old Stacy Q song. I probably don't want to listen to that tune again because of the horrid mental image it presents in my brain. (today I'm in Orlando after during the wee hours to get to Orlando from Nashville. I took a power nap before I left.)
No, no, no. "Burning Heart" is the song they play when Rocky gets off the plane in Siberia. The "Training Montage" plays when they show the contrasting training styles of Rocky and Drago.
Fatty, You should have seen the greatest one hit wonders show that is hosted by William Shatner that was on last night. Many of the songs were '80s ones. Anyway, I'll add to the great lists of Mrs. JB and Jackie: "Lullaby" - The Cure "Der Kommissar" - After the Fire "Tarzan Boy" - Baltimora "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go" - Soft Cell "Kids in America" - Kim Wilde "Send Me an Angel" - Real Life "Stand or Fall" - The Fixx "Major Tom" - Peter Schilling "Life in a Northern Town" - Dream Academy "Human" - Human League "Cruel Summer" - Bananarama That is all I can think of for now, but I know there are many others. I love the '80s probably more than any other era. Oh and Jackie - I have the Alphaville CD that has both "Big in Japan" and "Forever Young". Very good CD and I will now listen to it sometime today.
Oh, I just remembered another great one - "99 Luftballoons" by Nena. Rob Sheffield, who writes for Rolling Stone, and is one of the most brilliant people that not many people know about at all says this about the career of Nena: "When your first song is about the end of the world, it is pretty hard to come up with a second hit!"
Nena - German Peter Schilling - German Real Life - Australian Alphaville - German "Der Kommissar" was from Falco (Austrian)
