line movement doesn't always correlate. it can move and still be no where near close to the actual results in reality. but most people only remember those select games it may have been close to.
Fine, but one loss doesnt give like half of CF the right to overreact about our team and say we have no shot and the series is already lost.
He died for our sins! FWIW GSW was -475 to win the series before Game 2. So yes Vegas tends to be retroactive, but I think it's still a good gauge of where we stand in the series. Remember that the NBA is the one league where perception dictates the outcome. In 2016 the collective public turned against GSW after Draymond kneed Lebron in the junk, and the dramatic finish everyone wanted to see was a cocky, 73 win team get taken down by the plucky Cavs who weren't as classic the underdogs as we were led to believe in retrospect. But the NBA works like that. People at the top are thinking about the narrative all the time, and then Scott Foster and Tony Brothers get deployed at strategic times in order to influence the result for the sake of high drama.
Nah, it was a best of 6 starting at home, with a tie going to GS, we are 25% of the way to our goal. It's a pick-em.
We were always the underdogs. And we're right where I expected us to be, tied 1-1 heading to Oracle. I would've been stunned had the Rockets won the first two games at home. So now it comes down to stealing one in Oakland and holding serve at home. The Rockets won't be favored to do this, but they're certainly capable of it. They won both road games in Salt Lake City in dominating fashion. And that's every bit as tough of an arena to play in as Oracle. Maybe even moreso when you factor in the elevation(it ain't as bad as Denver, but it still has an impact).
Remember this thread after game 3. And remember it after game 4. “GSW in 6” is the baseline that the NBA league office down to the actuaries at the Vegas casinos have us down for. Something magical would have to happen in Oakland to change that. Try not to get upset about it. It’s just sports. We have a great team this year but dynasties sell tickets, and the manipulators of the NBA have a vested interest seeing these warriors move on. Can’t have Iron Sheik winning the title after all.
