Even before the season started when JVG was announced as the new head coach, I knew exactly what to expect. This was not a good marriage from day one. Players off the record still don't want to play for JVG and its no secret how JVG is an ego-maniac wanting to be like Pat Riley that it makes me puke. I'm not surprised at all at the outcome this season. In many ways the Rockets have met some of my expectatioins and surprised me in many ways. I knew JVG's offensive system would NOT work with the Western Conference teams. I also knew that he would have a generation communication gap barrier with some of these players. It's no secret that I have HATED JVG even during his days in New York. I guess you can say my expectations were not as high as many on this board with him under the helm. With that being said, I still find the Rockets entertaining much in the way the Early 90 Oilers used to give me just as much joy and pain. I love the team to much to turn my back on them. Does that mean I have to love the coach? HELL NO! The TWO things that are a positive about JVG is that he taught his defense and brought more press to the Rockets. Being in New York for so long, the media loves to talk to him which only brings more National Exposure for the team. I've accepted him as our coach for the next 3 years so..... If you haven't given up on the Rockets, HOLLA!
I haven't given up... but damn!; they better do something quick one way or another or they lose a whole generation of fans that the likes of Hakeem, Mario, and others worked to build.
Present. A true fan is one who never gives up. I could only imagine how bad it would be if some of you were Clippers' fans.
I still support them 100% but they need to find their shot ASAP. 80 point games don't put @sses in the seats.
I'm here...with a cautious attitude. No more living and dying with each game, no more letting losses ruining my night... But I'll be watching every game, win or lose. GO ROCKS!!!
I'm not giving up. Watching the Rox is one of the few "pleasures" I get from life. I'm watching that Seattle game last night while my wife is waiting to leave to head out for the night, and we both just knew they would find a way to blow it. It is frustrating...and Yao is SOFT SOFT SOFT...he probally pees sitting down. The scouting report is out...when Yao gets the ball in his hands, slap at it and its loose.
My attitude is simple and to the point and is widely known.. No matter what...they ARE my team...always have been and always will be....no matter what. It doesnt mean Im always happy with them...but Im a lot slower to criticize... REPRESENT!..Rockets
i'm here. i can't give up on 'em even and i always watch even tho the product right now is quite unwatchable
I'm still down without a doubt. They just need some offensive consistentcy. The D is there so as soon as they can get over 90ppg, they'll be fine. 1. Ming stop fallin down and you turn the ball over waaaaay 2 much for a non-primary ballhandler 2. Steve find your shot and your confidence 3. Mo grabs some more boards so you can stay on the court longer Everyone is playing well enough in their roles and we'll be fine. JVG won't settle for less and that gives me great confidence in the team.
Still am a Rox fan and don't plan on switching loyalties no matter how bad they do. The Rox are having problems now but when I started watching them as a lad in the early 80's they were much much worse. Anyway being a fan of any Houston team you have to take the bad with the good and until the Stros or Texans win a championship the Rox are the only ones to bring a championship to this long suffering city.
I believe. JVG's teams are built for playoff basketball. Now we just have to get in the playoffs. Go Rockets.
