I know this sounds crazy, and perhaps it is, but I'm concerned about the offense and this might be the to getting us going and adding some diversity to our lineup. If Durant is going to torch us, regardless of who we put on him, we might as well get a shooter out there to help spread the floor. CP3 and Ryno had excellent chemistry at the beginning of the year, and that could help alleviate some of the pressure on Harden and CP3 to create. The concern would be playing Harden and Ryno at the same time hurts out D, and thats valid. You've got to pick your poison here...you're looking at the best of multiple less than ideal options. What doesn't work? Playing Ryno and Green together without Capela on the floor. Bad BAD idea. So here are my adjustments: 1) Ryno starts in place of Tucker. 2) Tucker moves to center when Capela sits. 3) When Capela sits, Ryno sits. Ryno never plays without Capela, and he does not play in 3 guard lineups. Start: CP3 / Harden / Ariza / Ryno / Capela 6 min: Harden / Gordon / Ariza / Moute / Tucker 2 min: CP3 / Gordon / Moute / Tucker / Capela Start of 2nd: CP3 / Gordon / Moute / Anderson / Capela 8 min: Harden / Gordon / Ariza / Moute / Tucker 5 min: CP3 / Harden / Ariza / Tucker / Capela
I wish we did play ryno more tonight. Luc still looks scared driving and wasnt confident with his shot. I know his shoulder is on his mind but still.
true story. the worriers have no answer for ryno. like kd, there isn't a soul that can guard ryno if he is hitting from half court.
He should play a lot more, he should see the floor more than Nene at least for this series. Nene would be a better matchup for any of the East teams, but for this series, he needs to be our backup stretch 5. Spread the floor, let Harden and CP3 go to work. I don't think he should start though. Those guys just need to hit their shots. Period.
If Ryno was actually going to shoot the ball, yes. His confidence is lost. Luckily seems to be in the same boat. Some mojo has been lost. We lost this game for a lot of reasons, but nothing that requires any dramatic changes. Turnovers. Bad defensive rotations/matchups. The big one is that we barely gave our shooters a chance. I'm fine with idea of running iso, but we aren't getting calls on contact inside...pass it out. Find the open man and give the guys a chance. It was a great game. I could bit complain about a lot of things (fouls/etc...) but the reality is that the Warriors were a better team today. Klay and Durant killed us. One thing can be said with absolute certainty...Harden came to play and was the player we need him to be. Turnovers are the only knock you could have on him.
I agree that Anderson needs to be a part of this series. We need his deep threes to get more spacing -- esp if we are just gonna ball watch.
Ryno showed in his brief time on the floor tonight that he has NO confidence shooting the ball. He had a wipe open shot and passed it back to CP3 then clanked his other shot. Defensively he’s a real liability on the perimeter so unles he can guard DG he shouldn’t be in the floor.
To me your rotation is the key. They play less isolation with these lineups. They also have great balance, honestly i am wondering if Mike Dantoni doesnt change to this strategy soon
Im afraid it's gonna take 2 first round picks to get rid of Anderson after this playoffs. God, paying him was one of Morey's biggest mistakes.
-Thats the exact 7 man rotation i would roll with. Take GG and nenes minutes away. -I wouldnt start Ryno. Put him in the second unit when CP subs in for harden. -Capela held his own on D. He shouldnt be viewed as liability and play only 28 minutes. -I think we played them pretty even we just missed shots we usually make. Game 1 wasnt a must win and this series isnt "over" like every dumb media member is suggesting. - CP should see more P&R situations instead of iso. 3 assists wont cut it.
what happened to this man, beginning of the year he was letting fly even on contested 3's and hitting them.
Ryno is still scared to shoot the ball but at this point it doesn’t matter. Play him 20-25 minutes and let CP3/Harden pass him the ball with a second left on the shot clock so he’s forced to shoot.
Mike DAntoni needs to take this risk, the coaching staff needs to talk to Ryan and basically tell him to shoot. I think Ryan is more effective Starting the Game with Capela his best games against the Warriors was when he was Starting. The Rockets averaged around 120 or points when Ryan starts, P.J starts around we barely make it to 100 points. The 2 series was a struggle to score points, those were ugly wins. The 50 point Quarter against the Wolves Ryan was hitting his 3 pointers. Just start Ryan before it gets worse. Those games the Rockets matched point for point against the Warriors when Ryan Starts the game.
